Hehe.  I lost 1.7 pounds while vacationing with relatives in Southern
California.  I was gone for 6 days.

This was cool because instead of eating until I was no longer hungry, I
spent the week eating until full.  I kept a log of my foods and estimated
quantities, which I have now entered into Fitday.  I averaged 1877 calories
per day for the week.  The week just prior to going, I had averaged 1378 per
day.

I'm going back to my more restrictive routine.  I see my loss during
Christmas week as a reward for earlier good behavior.  I usually see my body
as responding to dieting efforts or failures that happened about 3 weeks
before.

I had been guessing that I was averaging 2500 calories per day.  The 1877
estimate is a pleasant surprise.

I stayed low carb.  My net carbs per day went up to 33, but that is still
OK.

Isn't the Earth's gravitational pull a little less in So. Cal?

You! That's a fact. Has to do with a much smaller cranium and gray matter.

It may seem so for airheads filled with helium.  Doesn't apply to
visitors, though.

It's more likely that you've been eating below your BMR for too long and by
eating more calories while you were on vacation, you've pumped up your
metabolism.  You should stay at the higher calories for a couple of weeks
more to test this theory.  If you don't continue to lose, you can go back
to the lower calories.
