Carmen - 24 Jan 2005 16:51 GMT Good morning, Well, it happened. I heard a song featuring Allison Krause that I really liked, "Whiskey Lullaby". I'm not sure why, but when we moved to the new house I started listening to CMT sometimes - of my own volition. I suspect the former owners of having infected the house with 'country germs' because that just didn't happen before now (except for John Denver). <G> Since you were the one who first suggested Allison Krause I figured I'd own up to you being right - about this one little thing. Fair is fair. ;-)
Take care, Carmen PS Have you tried Eminem's stuff? If not you might be shocked at how thoughtful some of his songs can be.

It sucked.

Unless he was singing it doesn't count. BTW, thanks a lot. Now I've got an image of Dre in tights stuck in my head. Just for that, picture this: Andre the Giant in drag as Marilyn Monroe.

Xtile - 29 Jan 2005 00:21 GMT > Hi, > [quoted text clipped - 17 lines] > take care, > Carmen I can appreciate his omni-denigrating rap to a point, but after awhile enough is enough, thanks, I got the point. 5 Mile was a good movie, though, I've watched it a few times. I love those rap battles. I'm really not into rap/hip hop all that much, but there are some pretty cool "educated" rappers out there who have interesting things to say and don't spend all their time cursing themselves and other people. Pharcyde is great, for example, and as far as hip hop music goes, very creative. Generally though, I don't listen to the stuff.

Eminem seems to be maturing publicly. He's apologized for *some* of his earlier denigration, which leads me to believe it's sincere. It looks like he isn't stuck with all the crappy attitudes he had before. Some have been rethought and discarded, so I have hope the guy will someday be a really good human being. It's easy to be good when life has always been kind to you, but people who have to fight themselves and the rest of the world before they straighten themselves out are the ones I root for the hardest. Just one of my foibles. :-)
Take care, Carmen

jjbchansen@hotmail.com - 28 Jan 2005 23:00 GMT get a room you two
Carmen - 28 Jan 2005 23:25 GMT > get a room you two It's possible for grownups of the opposite gender to carry on a conversation without sex being anywhere in the picture. It'll happen when you grow up. You'll see! Girls don't really have cooties after all. :-P

If you had the other post in mind when you wrote this one - the one about Bunky and JC - then I suppose anything is possible. I don't think that's the case, but if it were I doubt I'd readily see it. The concept of JC needing protection from anyone *is* pretty funny though. <G>

Didn't girls have cooties (AKA "girl germs") when you were a young boy? Is that more regional than I thought?

I did laugh the first time I heard him say whay he'd do if that birdie don't sing and that ring don't shine though. The guy loves his little girl, but he's still a "work in progress". ;-)
