you can't have it because it's not on the list of approved foods for
induction.

I have to agree on that.  Stick with the approved list, then work it in
during OWL and maintainence.

Can i rephrase that question thus?

Having noticed that soy milk is not on the approved list of foods for
induction, and that it appears to have a very carbs, does anyone know if it
will affect induction adversely?

It's doubtful that Atkins knew of, and cataloged, every possible low carb
product. Try thinking for yourself.

you can drink it if you choose, but know that if you do so you are not
following induction.

until someone comes up with Induction Mk 2, no one is going to able to answer
you that question.  Induction list is as good as it gets at the present.
Personally I am hoping that someone will summarise the Induction list into a few
rules which are more or less as effective as the Induction list, but that is not
happening anytime soon.

Sure but it doesn't change the answers.

There is more to Induction than counting carbs.  You
can't have 20 grams worth of candy bars and nothing
esle but meat and water, either.

You have missed half of the Atkins process by focusing
on carb counts.  There are other reasons that legumes
are later in the carb ladder no matter that soy happens
to be low in carbs.  Legumes have a higher chance of
food intolerance issues than foods earlier in the carb
ladder, so legumes come later even the low carb ones.

On induction, you can only have foods listed on the approved foods list for
induction.  That is why you can't have soya milk.  Induction is only for 2
weeks, it's not so bad.

If you know how to make Soy Milk then you will know the carb inside Soy milk
is not controllable.(too many variables). On the other hand, meat is very much
protein and fat. According to Atkins, it is very important to control carb
intake during induction period. This is why there exists a Acceptable Foods
list.
