Does anyone know if drinking knocks one out of ketosis?

The only change I've made to my diet in any way was drinking on friday
night. I stuck to white rum and diet caffeine free coke. I knew that
my body would burn the alcohol instead of fat, but I didn't think it
would knock me out of ketosis.

Yesterday I only had 9 carbs and 1182 calories and today so far (not
had dinner yet) I've only had 5.5 carbs and 738 calories.

I can't think of anything else I did that would effect it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

I don't know.

Does alcohol become glucose or ketone bodies?

Production of ketones is a result of fat metabolism. If alcohol is
metabolized before everything else, including fat, then fat metabolism slows
down considerably or stops altogether. No fat burning, no excess ketones, no
sign of ketosis. Whether ketosis completely stops or you just don't see
evidence of it (pink ketostix) probably depends on how much alcohol you
drink.

Right. Which is, if you don't overconsume when drinking carb-free alcohol,
you can stay in ketosis.

Depends on the person.  It kicks some out, others the
dehydration effect is enough to turn the sticks dark so
it gives them the appearance of increasing ketosis.

Ethanol is metabolized using a different metabolic
path than either.  Acetate something.

Alcohol has calories.  When in doubt, count any mystery
calories as carbs.  A low carber will never go wrong doing
that.  It may cause your count to be off but most of
the time better an occasional too low than an occasional
too high.
