hi,

i just discovered cauldron foods' golden marinated tofu pieces at the weekend.
the stats are:

per 100g Enegy 70kcal/294kj, Protein 7.9g,Carbohydrate 2.0g, Fat 3.4g.

and they are delicious.
i am trying not to eat so much cheese, so these make a good (much lower cal)
source of protein.

i got them from tesco's.

sorry, i should have explained that they are ready cooked, so i just eat them
on their own. or with salad. guess you could heat them through in a stir fry
too...

How are they marinated?  Do they come in different flavors?  I guess I could
google for it, but I'm lazy. :)

they claim to be 'ginger and soy sauce' but i am not a huge ginger fan and
they are subtle enough to just be a bit tangy and salty.

I make Tofu cheese by getting Miso paste and cover tofu blocks with it
completely. Into the fridge for 2 to 3 days then scrape the miso off. It is
very good, if you're a cheese lover. Guess I'm lucky because I love Tofu as
is. But treating it with Miso makes it very nice.

Use the light miso paste. The dark is too strong.

   Best Regards,

                Steve
