Aha.  Hmm.  This is what happens when you don't eat all day whilst doing
physical labor.  Wooooo . . .  interesting.   Whycome it's so easy to not
eat, to not even be the slightest bit hungry, when I'm using up calories
and actually need food, yet if I sit on my a.s all day I just want to
eatandeatandeat?  Whoever made my body be like that, I'm going to write a
complaint letter.

Anyway, I actually don't feel bad, I feel really good.  Just in a weird
way.  I've been painting my room in our new house, from 9am to 5pm. No
water there yet, so every time I have to pee I have to come back to the
current house, and every time I do that I bring two more boxes of books
back with me to the new house.  And, then, after painting, I helped my
friend move one of our couches to his apartment, because we're getting
newer old stuff.   So, that's why I'm tired and loopy.  :o)

Tommorow set your alarm for 3 times. When the alarms go off , have
breakfast, lunch and then dinner.
You probably feel tired and loopy because you are not eating and your
blood sugar is way down.  I get really cranky when my blood sugar is
low when I haven't eaten for several hours. I have noticed by being on
the BFL plan that I don't feel those blood sugar highs and lows
anymore because now I eat at certain regular times every day.

*Not eating* is not good for your body or your brain
just as eating too much is not good either.

Not eating is good for you body and your brain, but you wouldn't know
because you've never tried it.  That's why you weigh 400 pounds.

Oh, I know.  Alarms won't work in the house, since there is no electricity
yet.  Hence the non-stop painting while it's light out.  I do take breaks
to come home and pee and drink water, but I'm really in a hurry to get this
done, and I did eat dinner.  People actually fast for many days you know,
without ill effects.  I'll be fine.  :o)

I disagree.  Not eating allows your body to fast and rid itself of
toxins.  Constantly eating never gives your digestive system a rest.

I think fasting for a couple of days can be good mentally, and probably
harmless physically, but the "toxins" theory reeks of BS, imo.  Your body
continually rids itself of toxins, through your breath, sweat, urine, etc
no matter what you do.

The only toxin that the body doesn't rid itself of, without your help, is
that terrible toxin of excess stored fat.

And some heavy metals, of course.

They say though that if your body isn't busy digesting food, it has more
time to get rid of the crap (no pun intended)

Yeah, but "they" say a lot of stuff.  "They" say that magnets and crystals
can cure pain, but I don't believe that either.

They are low carb indeed. But over consumption may make it difficult
to drive in any direction but north. You will, however, be able to
accurately tell time without a watch.

I'm lonely and crave attention. Please ignore me.

Or something.

Well, that's (the crystal group) a different set of wackos :)

When animals are sick, they don't eat.  Same with kids, if you don't
force them to eat when they are sick, they won't.  Could be that they
are reserving their energy from the digestion process and giving it to
the healing process.  That idea isn't that wacko!

We are trained so well in the west to constantly have something in our
stomach that we will do whatever we can to deny even the slightest
possibility that it might be good once in awhile to go hungry.  Took me
a long time to get used to hunger, now I can actually enjoy it, in the
right circumstances.  Luckily I have the income to eat whatever and
whenever I want to.

I won't though.  This isn't normal life, this is frantically trying to get
my room and the house ready so we can move in next weekend.  I have noticed
though, that when I have a few days of very light eating, either from being
busy or being sick, that my appetite stays lower for at least a few weeks.

Yes, if I move to a new house every week, I certainly could.  Or if I got
hired to be a carpenter or painter on one of those home makeover shows
where they build a house in a week or redo a room in a day . . .

If we're just talking about not eating for a couple of days, I could plan
to do that every once in a while.  I've been accidentally doing it about
two to four days a month this winter, but mostly from illness.   If we're
talking about a day full of physical activity, say working out at the gym
for 6 to 8 hours . . . well, I'd rather take longer to lose the weight and
be able to use my weekends for other things.  I already have a pattern of
not eating much on the weekends because that's when I do my projects,
they're just usually not such physically demanding projects.

Work out a plan to train yourself to eat less.  You'll learn that hunger
won't increase without bound. One way is to eat a dinner with a high
precentage of fat and protein (don't pig out), and then fast the next day
(don't eat until the second morning after). Eat normally once you restart.

Maybe you need to work up to it, though.

For the last week or so I have been following Warrior Diet again, JC
reminded me about it.  Nothing but water til around 10, then I have a
coconut water (fresh coconuts) and later have some raw almonds (like, a
handful eaten slowly).  I have a piece of fruit here and there (and when
I say a piece, it is like three bites worth).  Get my hour of exercise
around 5:30 or so, and then have my dinner, Warrior/CAD style......green
salad, followed by steamed veggie and then protein....no urge to eat
after a nice meal like that.  Read a couple hours, or play the piano.
Sleep early....I find I need more sleep when I'm not jacked up on so
much food.  Pounds are soaring off, I am alert, and life is fine.
Really, even with the coconut water and fruit, I'm still eating pretty
low carb, can't be more than 75 or so grams a day of carbs (from
berries, fruit and veggies).
JC Der Koenig - 06 Feb 2005 15:32 GMT
Two days a week would help quite a bit.

That's proof, imo, that you can train yourself to eat less.

I think so too!  I'd bet a good part of my hunger is mental rather than a
physical need for food.  The busier I am, the less hungry I get, which
should be the opposite if I really needed fuel.  Granted, by dinner time
last night I was suddenly pretty freakin' hungry, but I ate my two crab
legs, my broccoli, and my avacado half and I was fine.  Didn't go
overboard, didn't have any late night cravings.

I also think adrenalin is an appetite supressant, when you're all hyped up
you just don't feel hunger.
