I think this stuff is great for nuclear fusion, so it should be good
for my stomach, too ???

Sure, go for it.

I saw an episode of the Simpsons where Homer ate some and it didn't seem
to affect him, so you should be ok.

If it doesn't work, your wife should be able to save on the electricity
bills if she nails you to the ceiling instead of burying you.

The Federation starship Voyager's food  replicators are powered by the same
deuterium reactors that power it's warp engines.  So IMO the answer is yes.
