Okay, here is my question....
I have been doing a very clean induction for the last 5 weeks. I have
lost 11 pounds of the 50 I need to lose. I have kept it under 20 net
carbs, only deducting fiber. All of my carbs are coming from Green
veggies. At this point I am not at all bored with the food selections
or anything but I did not lose any pounds this week. I started working
out more, upped my cardio from 30-50 minutes. I have lost 2.5 inches
this week but am wondering, since the scale did not budge if I need to
start adding more carbs? I am kind of nervous to add fruit but I don't
know how much more veggies I can eat! I did add 1/2 of a lc tortilla
from time to time and a little pumpkin yesterday. Anyway, what are
suggestions about when to go off of induction into owl and start adding
more foods? Another thing that may be affecting my scale right now is
that last night I had 2T of almonds that were actually quite salty...I
don't know if that may have something to do with it too?
For those who will ask, my sample menu is this:
B: 2 eggs scrambled in 1/2 T butter
2 oz meat
L: 3 oz chicken or tuna
2T mayo
1 Cup romain lettuce
1 Cup cucumber
or
3 cups romaine lettuce with 2 T dressing
1 oz asiago cheese
4 oz chicken or steak
D: Chicken ceasar salad or
4 oz meat and 1.5 cups brocolli or green beans
S: Rarely eat but if I do it is a laughing cow swiss cheese wedge, or
an Italian cream soda or a diet root beer with cream, only one of those
a day.
Thanks for any input...

When this happened to me at the middle of the 5th month of strict LC many
people offered their advice until I was eating a very limited diet and still
didn't lose weight. Even giving up coffee, diet soda, cheese and nuts made
no difference. I gagged down unwanted glasses of extra water - that didn't
help, just made me nauseous and disrupted my sleep. You may now need to
start *counting calories.* Don't believe all Dr Atkins hype about SUMPTUOUS
meals the whole time. At some point you must CUT CALORIES to keep losing.

I can eat sumptuous LC meals, count calories, and lose weight at the same
time. Others can too. Anyone who gagged down unwanted water is just looking
for a magic pill.

Weight loss is not going to happen every week, whether you are at
Induction levels or in OWL. Sometimes the body just takes a break, but
there is usually some shape-shifting going on during that time. I would
recommend moving in to OWL just so you have more variety. If you have
days where you have extra sodium, just be AWARE of it so that what shows
up on the scale isn't a surprise. Also be aware of the effects that PMS
may have on your weight.

You didn't lose any pounds, but you lost 2.5 inches? That doesn't look like
a problem.

What's the problem in adding some more vegetables? The amount you
showed is pretty modest and during induction they are limited, so
adding some as you move forward should be natural and easy. Overall,
I'd say if you lost 2.5 inchs in the current week, what more did you
expect? It's normal to stall in both pounds and inchs at times. The
fact that you lost 2.5 inchs is excellent.
Since you have a lot to lose and everything is going well, personally,
I'd keep doing what you're doing, or just increase carbs slightly for
awhile by adding more vegetables and expanding the list of foods from
those allowed on induction.
