I got my elliptical trainer today! (yay) Just have to figure out how
to put it together (boo).
I'm just wondering (as I've never seriously exercised before) what's
generally the best time? I read you get more energy so I'm wondering
should I get up earlier and do an hour in the morning? Or is after
work fine?
Maybe I should compromise and do half an hour in the morning and half
an hour at night.
It's just getting up half an hour earlier, I'm a sleep in hit the
snooze button 23948732 times person ;)

Any time you'll do it. No one can prove that one time is better than
another. Do what works best for you and what you'll continue to do. And
don't be afraid to change up from time to time.

If that works for you, do it. I've done all kinds of things.

Do what works best for you.
Start off easy and get used to it a bit. An hour at a time may be too much.

The best time is anytime you get hungry, instead of eating.

Personally I find exercise first thing in the morning helps to wake me up
properly before work, and the cooler temperatures help too.

I'd suggest starting out very slowly, like 15 minutes a day, and building from
there.

You should do it when you will do it. It sounds like you might grow to
hate it and stop if you have to get up early. If you will be consistent
after work then that is the right time.

Since you say you are not an exerciser, do not start with an hour a day.
Maybe 15-20 minutes at a moderate pace and gradually work your way up.
