this is a response from joe, the mastermind behind my favorite restaurant
Chipotle:

There may be a few natural sugars in many things, but there are no ADDED
sugars except a touch of honey in the smoked bacon that we add to our pinto
beans. As for wheat, the only wheat is in our tortillas (both large and
small soft flour tortillas). Those who are gluten intolerant occasionally
wonder about the distilled vinegar in our hot red tomatillo salsa, but that
would be for you to decide with regard to whether this is good or bad (there
is some debate in the gluten community). Otherwise, no, we don't have wheat
in anything.

... so great news for anybody on our way of eating :)  ive written to him
asking for low carb tortillas as well, but thats another issue.  but as long
as folks stay away from the tortillas, taco shells, and the corn salsa, its
the tastiest low carb munchie haven we have.. imo :):):):):)  WOOT!

oh yea, if anybody wants an emailed copy of the carb counts and nutritional
information, let me know.  he emailed me a PDF of all their food too :)

One opened nearby recently, not my kind of place, but I'm not a burrito
guy anyway.  You know they're a wholly-owned subsidiary of McDonalds,
right?  Not that there's anything wrong with that.  ;)

I did try it, that's how I know it isn't my kind of place.  I'm in San
Diego, so there's no dearth of good Mexican food around.

I think by saying "no dearth," he means the opposite -- there's an
abundance of them.  In Phoenix, Mexican restaurants were everywhere (the
opposite of CT -- here, it's Italian and it's hard to find Mexican).

I dont know about CT but the Mexican is bad in PA and like CT, PA has a LOT
of Italian.
When I moved to Wyoming I went nuts because of how bad and hard to find the
Italian is here. When I go back to PA I do go of plan and go crazy eating
good Italian food last time I was in PA my sister took me to a "good"
Mexican restrant it was ok but I told her it was great :o\.

I have now found an Italian Restrant that people from NJ own its the best
food around. Thats my treat every now and then. Its also nice to be around
people from the east coast. They might be more blunt then most people in WY
and I will never move back to PA but I do miss it at times.

Angie <god I miss NY and AC being a few hours from me.

Correct.  There's an abundance to choose from, so not caring for Chipotle
isn't surprising nor problematic.  I grew up in Houston, and do appreciate
good Tex-Mex.  I can recommend Loma Linda, if it's still around.
