I'm walking a mile a day!!! A mile day!!! Im the girl who was riding
the buggies in Wallies last month!!!! HOLY sh.t!!! Who wooda thunk
it??????? Im down 26 pounds in 15 days(postop) for a total of 38
freakin' pounds this past month. It has made all the difference in the
world!!! I bought my first pair of lace up shoes in 10 years!
DH met me for my walk today and took me to lunch. I would have had the
broth from the soup of the day but it was chowder and gruel? Some cream
soup with mushrooms whirled in it and big chunks of portobello and
tender beef. DH had salad bar, I had nice company, air, and water
LOL!!!! I came home and ate the puredd refried beans everyone in the
WLS newsgroup raves about. OMG its good with a pinch of cheddar on
top!!!!!
Im still trying to get back into my bed but my belly is a tad bit
tender yet and cant withstand the way I sleep yet. Im a tummy sleeper.
Life is good. I have been able to up my water to about 5 ounces a day
now. Water generally runs right out of my pouch but sometimes the cold
stuff makes my pouch contract and it hurts a bit, kinda like a bad gas
cramp. As soon as I load my pouch each drink kind of equalizes the
discomfort and I'm ok. Warm water is putrid LOL
I have not felt this good in years. Im almost euphoric. I want to shout
off the rooftops IM ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Snip
This made me grin out loud (if you catch my meaning). It's a
wonderful feeling when you start being able to do things that take you
back in time like that. When was the last time you could walk a mile?
A month from now even that'll probably seem like child's play.
Enjoy every minute of that exercise. You deserve it. ;-)
Take care,
Carmen

You know I hated walking. It hurt so bad. My muscles in my lower back
got so tight and my butt muscles hurt. I panted. Awful. Funny thing a
mere small amount of weight off me has made a B I G difference. I
have a bit of a limp because my knee bothers me but I try to shut it
out and walk anyway. I was actually talking and walking to Larry this
afternoon. OMG!!!! I know the best is yet to come but I just feel like
LIFE has been breathed into me again!!!!!! The place I walk is The
Waterfront Trail at the waters edge downtown. It is a nice wide flat
paved surface that encompasses the whole waterfront for miles. I walk
until I am tired one way which is 1/2 mile and I touch the one light
pole and turn around and come back. I can see Mt Baker, Victoria BC,
Ediz Hook, The HUGE freighters anchored up, The Black Ball Ferry coming
and going from Canada, and the inlet of the Strait of Juan De Fuca. The
noisy seagulls fly over head, and people pass me coming and going and
actually say "Hello". Its generally a windy but sunny walk.
I have thoroughly enjoyed myself.

That's amazing Laureen! I'm so happy for you! One thing I loved about
quitting smoking and now about losing weight is the big differences
you see in the things you can do.

Just think if you'd started eating less a long time ago, where you'd be now.
