I had a check up yesterday, which went well. When the tech was monitoring
my various measurables, he mentioned that the oxygen level from the little
thing that clips on the end of your finger was 100% which he said was
good.
Naturally, I'm pleased to know that my fingernails are getting all the
oxygen they need, but I was wondering what that actually means. Is it an
indicator that I'm actually getting fit, that I have lots of iron in my
blood so it can carry lots of oxygen or just that the bubbles from all
the carbonated soda I drink are making my blood fizzy?
Just idle curiousity.

Ah, thanks. It's pretty cool how that works. Too bad they can't monitor
blood glucose that way.

They may some day. They are working on it in Japan. It uses sweat to
measure glucose over a short time period. It will probably be several years
before they get it all figured out.
