Just spotted this on sale at the local Shoprite here in NJ.  It's sold
in 12 packs of pt bottles for $6.  Pretty good, IMO, a little too
sweet, but thats fixed by adding some ice and it has a nice orange
taste, not artificial tasting.  It's says it's made with real fruit
juice, but they must do a good job of sucking the sugar out, cause it's
0 carb.

Tidbits: Just how 'real' is juice these days?
April 7, 2005 TID0407

HOW LITTLE JUICE IS STILL 'REAL'?

Mr. Tidbit's recent chuckle over the chutzpah of a Tropicana
refrigerated orange-juice product may have been premature; it just gets
better. To review: Four of Tropicana's Essentials line are 100 percent
orange juice plus a varying array of vitamins and minerals; the fifth,
Tropicana Essentials Light 'n Healthy, labeled "light orange juice
beverage," is described as having half the sugar and carbohydrate of
orange juice.

It has half the everything of orange juice: It's half water! It's
water, 42 percent not-from-concentrate orange juice, some natural
flavor and Splenda (to make the water seem like orange juice) -- plus
vitamins, minerals and miscellany. And it's the same price as the other
Tropicana Essentials.

At the time Mr. Tidbit didn't even consider how much more peculiar an
orange-juice-type beverage could get. So he wasn't prepared for the two
kinds of Tropicana OrangeAde, a noncarbonated "naturally flavored juice
beverage from concentrate with other natural flavors,"made with REAL
fruit juice." The regular kind (100 calories per cup) is water,
high-fructose corn syrup, orange juice from concentrate, citric acid,
vitamin C (100 percent of the daily value), various preservatives, some
natural flavor (to make the water and syrup seem like orange juice),
thickeners and colors. Guess how much "REAL" juice is in it: 3 percent.

The sugar-free version has no calories. It's water, citric acid, orange
juice from concentrate, vitamin C (100 percent of the daily value),
various preservatives, some natural flavor and two sweeteners (to make
the water seem like orange juice), plus thickeners and colors. No
calories but it contains "REAL" orange juice? Hmm.

Guess how much: 1 percent. Really. In a 2-liter bottle that's four
teaspoons.

At least both are priced as pop, not juice.

You've been had.

I haven't been had.  I know perfectly well there's little real juice in
most juice drink products that contain juice.  This isn't anything new.
Even the regular ones, unless it specifically lists the amount of
juice on the front of the label, have very little real juice.  So I
wouldn't expect a 0 carb one to have much at all, just enough to give
it flavor, which I think they've done nicely.  I like it and think it
makes a nice orange drink.  If you don't, then just don't buy it.

You thought it was made with real juice and they had somehow removed
the sugar. They, in fact, removed the juice.

I took that comment as sarcasm.

Now that you mention it, I think you're right.  I had bought some SF
Tang a couple years ago, but never could find it again.  I thought that
was pretty good too.  Certainly not OJ, but not bad as a substitute.

You know, I think I may have, but I'm not sure.  I'll definitely check
it out.  Thx!
