I've got a pair of jeans....

...that I've had for YEARS. Never worn them....
They hang in my closet, old but "brand new" waiting for me to be able to
fit into them.

Right now, they lack about four inches of being able to zip.

What's funny is, for years I've thought about getting rid of
them....then a little voice would say, "Someday I might be able to wear
those...."

Now I look at them and KNOW I'll be zipping them up in just a few weeks.
Maybe as few as two weeks!

What I LOVE about this WOE is, I feel absolutely positive, no question,
no doubt, that I WILL not only succeed in losing my weight....I KNOW I
will also keep it off---forever.

You couldnt GET me to start back on the "white stuff"...sugar, bread,
pasta. No way, Jose'.  II's poison to me. Literally, poison.  A sweet,
seductive poison that stole my life.

Yep.  Ain't it grand?  I too figured out what's what with this WOE, and I
just laugh inside when I hear the carb heretics blather on about how "this"
is just a fad...  They wouldn't know a fad if it bit 'em on the buttocks...

You will do it!

I did the same thing, kept jeans for twenty years that I couldn't wear but
didn't throw away because there was nothing wrong with them.  Wearing a pair
right now.

Yes, they have been washed. :)
diane - 28 May 2005 20:43 GMT
yes- I'm wearing a pair of County Seat brand jeans at the moment-  what year
did they go out of business?

This morning when I got dressed for work, I put my black khakis on and
couldn't zip them......what!!! what up!!! I had grabbed my son's jeans-
before losing weight I wouldn't have gotten one leg into them.

You are measuring, as well as weighing, aren't you?

I've got 2 models set up on landsend.com - a before and a current - boy! is
that motivating!

Nicky....yes, I measured. LOL...not a pretty set of numbers..... I find
this mythical beast people refer to...what is it?  uh...oh yes, the
"waist"...a fascinating concept. Presumably....this is an area of the
body which  is SMALLER than the hips and chest??????

absolutely fascinating. My tape measure found no such area. In
fact....the number, "44" KEPT coming up....no matter where I placed the
tape.......

ROFL! Tell me about it! I've lost 10 clothes sizes everywhere except round
my middle, which is stubbornly lagging 2 sizes behind.

But sometimes you lose inches not pounds, so it's good to have the
measurements to keep the positive feedback going even if the scales stall.

WELL, I've got a closet full of jeans
That I haven't worn since I was a teen
All this time they didn't fit
Because I put on just a little bit,
But I'm walking,
Yes indeed I'm walking,
Don't you know I'm walking
In these old jeans of MINE!

(Apologies to Fats Domino)

Jim---GOOD one.
sigh....just think....if "Fats" had ever heard of Atkins....he'd have
been known as "Slim" Domino, instead....

Also, my apologies to anyone old enough to remember that song but hasn't
heard it in a hundred years, and now can't get it out of their minds. <G>

Are you kidding?  That's a GREAT song to have stuck in your head!  The
really bad ones to have stuck in your head are for grocery stores or car
commercials or, God forbid, the Pina Colada song.

hahaha...good idea, Saffire!

my country song....(to the tune of, "He Stopped Lovin Her Today")

Them Lonely, Lonely Jeans

Oh, them lonely, lonely jeans
hanging there for oh, so long
in the darkness, all alone
Wishin' I could put em on!

"Wrangler" says the pocket patch
"38x32".....
I cant wait to try em on
..and zip em up.....
and sit down, too.

"I STARTED WEARIN THEM TODAY!"
will be my cry when it is done
when my waist is whittled down...
and I lose inches off my bum.....

"I STARTED WEARIN THEM TODAY!"
I'll be so very happy, dear...
When I can wear my jeans downtown
I think I'll buy my jeans a BEER.

Thaffy, that was a classic by George Jones, and LassChance did a wonderful
rewrite of it!

I love country music, but rock and roll was invented right here in Texas.
Buddy Holly, and so on.  Thanks for remembering Fats (Slim) Domino!

I love every time you post!  You are quite the low-carb lady!

And now, an ode to tuna (originally by Tammy WhyNet?)

Sometimes it's hard to be a tuna,
They come and catch you from the sea,
But if they get you,
Don't let it fret you,
You'll soon be someone's entree.

Stay in your can!
Be glad that they filleted you,
And don't let it ever dismay you
If they stack you by the Hamburger Helper!

Stay in your can!
You're low-carb and quite delicious,
Healthy oils and SO nutritious.
You'll be a feast for a family!!!!!
Stay... In.... Your CANNNNNN!
