After the weekend we ended up (fathers day & 2nd birthday party) with 1
carvel Flying Saucer (ice cream sandwhich) and 1/4 small ice cream cake left
over.
Monday night I bought croissants and danish pastries for the Mom club that
was coming over Tuesday morning. About dinner time I was hungry and tired
and the VOICE started in with me!!
"Hey - you can eat that ice cream ya know" "yeah but if DH sees it he'll
want some too" "Well, see if you can wait till morning - he doesn't remember
it's there, you can eat it all by yourself in the morning and won't have to
share" Then you can eat some of the pastries too"
This is about word for word the thoughts that went through my head! That's
the night I ate the gigantic salad! Later I had some walnuts for a snack
with a sweet sugar-free soda, probably orange soda. I won :o)
Does this sound familiar? I can't be the only one that has such a nasty,
plotting voice inside my head. Glad to report it's wednesday and I still
haven't touched it - the kids have been eating the ice cream cake and I
don't think about it. Also - I sent all the leftover pastries (including the
Munchins a mom brought here) to work with DH this morning :o) The office
folk ate them all up.
Thankfully I went to the grocery store today and got lots of great stuff and
some good snacks. Staying full helps fight the beast!

Good job! I had the same voices in my head.. DH wont notice if I get into
his icecream... 1 grilled cheese sandwich wont hurt me *yeah right* I
replaced it with WAITING for flatbread this morning.. I would not even make
up the flatbread last night!

GOod job to you!
Mine is evil because I can't eat 1 bite - i'd eat it all, hide doing it so I
wouldn't have to share and hoard it or secretly eat it in the car and
forget. Like I'd go to the store on an errand and get a bunch of junk and
eat on the way home.

That is why it is not "funny" to tell somone that it is OK to eat birthday
cake when they are resolved not to. Cravings can get triggered by small
things and have very long lasting results.

I didn't say it was "funny" - Redd Foxx is funny. I think that you (in
general, not you personally) need to loosen up and take these things with a
grain of salt. It is usenet - I said it was like saying "if you eat it with
your fingers it has no calories", meant jokingly - not to be taken
seriously. Only a moron would BELIEVE it - lol. YOU also have a problem
getting my meaning.
Are you going to post this same comment after everything I post?
I told her in that thread that I am a person that CAN NOT eat b.day cake or
have one bite - I am a sugar-addict with a big problem. If she is that type
that can control herself and wants the treat/cheat then it's fine - she can
make her own choice.
Luna was making a tounge-in-cheek remark, she wasn't trying to honestly
convince the woman that the cosmos will align on her son's birthday and take
the carbs out of her cake, she also wasn't coming on as the sugar
pusher-man. It also wasn't a "joke" on the lady - "haha! I know, let's trick
her into going off her plan and have a big hoot tomorrow"
Why do I have to KEEP REPEATING MYSELF to you??? Are you the kid that
actually PULLS the finger???

Except that the person who originally said it has now repeated it and made
very clear that she was completely serious. And, IMO, that was the clear
import of it the first time she said it.

Yes, I have now read that and stand corrected. My bad. Sorry for ranting on
& on!

Pardon me for butting in... But if you are missing the Grilled Cheese
Sandwich (Which was a staple at my house) May I suggest a grilled low carb
tortilla and cheese. I make them all the time now.

I can't go to Ralph's without buying a 10 oz can of shelled pistachios and
eating the damned thing (1600 cals, the carbs aren't bad). I have just
about enough restraint to go to Von's instead, where they don't have them.
Ridiculous, not flattering, but there it is. (shrug)

Oooooh, noooooo, you're not the only one!
In fact...when that little voice isnt in YOUR head, it's in mine! Just
last week at the store, mine said, "HEY! Why not buy a BIG ole bottle of
wine and drink it! Take a few days OFF the diet! What the Hey!"
I won, too...but the Voice was definitely there!

The evil voice in my head screams for potato chips. I have not given in!

Hi Cindy -
I have just lately become a pro at making cheese chips (or cheese crackers)
Do you ever do that? I have been using a pre-shredded mexican cheese blend
and I make little piles in an oiled non-stick pan, Fry till they can be
flipped then fry a bit till that side seems done, put on paper towel to get
excess oil off. They are so crispy and delicious when cooled a bit!
I am putting it in salads, eating on the side of eggs, with dip - in a boat,
on a plane! you name it they are great! May kill your chip beast!
