Hi ,

I need  a suggestion. Any comment will be appreciated.

I am 31 , 1.75 cm and 75 kg.   I want lose weight , my aim is to be
70kg.  White cheese is which i like most , but in order to lose weight
, it is one of the things which i quit eating. Instead of white cheese
, i eat olive at breakfasts. Does olive is better in terms of energy ,
cholesterol etc? Since white cheese contains milk , it can have
negative effect on my cholesterol level ( ldl: 133, hdl: 47 ,
total:197) , what about olive?

Kind Regards,
tolga

Why don't you put your brain in gear before you put your mouth in motion?

Why don't you put your brain in gear before you put your mouth in motion?

Seemed to me the OP is not a native English speaker, so back up the rude
truck.

Hi Tolga :).

Which low carb plan are you following?  In many of them it isn't necessary
to give up cheese - I'm not sure what "white cheese" is but the harder, aged
cheeses are about 1g/oz. of carbs.  (It doesn't sound like you're in the
US - although your English is quite good - I think an ounce is about 28g?)

Most folks find that their blood lipids improve greatly when eating low
carb; we can eat much more in the way of fats, as it isn't the dietary fats
that solely raise your levels.  Olive oil is considered to be one of the
so-called "good fats" by most, however.

I would respectfully suggest that you get a good book on whichever of the
low carb plans interest you and learn about fats, dairy foods, etc. and
where it all fits in to a low carb lifestyle.

Best to you :).

Thanks Sherry ,

I am from Turkey ,

The latest tests ( as i posted before: hdl:133 , ldl:47) , are little
high. The doc. told to me that , there was noting to worry . But
considering the family history of heart problems( my father had a
bypass at his 54) , i am little bit considered about myself. Although i
do regular exercises, and very careful about what i eat , i expected to
have lower values . My meals does not include redmeat , sugar , salt ,
i eat green vegetables , fish.  I can say that i am not applying a diet
, in fact this becomes my life style.

Only cheese ( sorry for the term white cheese , and thanks that you
have already understand what i mean) , and yoghurt ( another milk
product ) , i like and eat everyday are things to blame.
I got lots of advises in order to lower the ldl values. But losing
weight is a thing which i do on my own.   Now i am 73 kgs. , i lost 2
kgs. in a week , eating less, but  this way finding energy to go on is
little bit difficult . Is there any diet which allows me to carry on at
the same time prevents me from getting kgs. again ?

Kind Regards,
tolga

Yes, there is.  It is low carb - and almost everybody who posts here is on
it, in one form or another.  And one of the beauties of the way we eat is
our energy levels :).

We eat meats (including red meats, fish, poultry), dairy (cheese, yogurt),
lots of vegetables.  And if you have the time to peruse the archives, you
will see that eating a diet with fats and proteins BUT low carbs will bring
you good health and blood lipid values.
http://www.ravnskov.nu/cholesterol.htm and
http://www.second-opinions.co.uk/cholesterol_myth_1.html are a couple of
articles you might want to read that will explain more about the
relationship of dietary fats, which you seem to be trying to avoid, to blood
lipids and heart disease.
http://www.diabetes-normalsugars.com/articles/fatlie.shtml is a good but
lengthy article that cites some facts along with informed opinion.

That is my response :).
