DaVinci Syryps -- again

I say "again" because I know that there have been a lot of threads about the
DaVinci syrups.  But I just ordered some for the first time.  I found a
website (which I won't name for fear of being accused of spamming) that
sells the 750 ml bottles for $4.75 when bought in a case of 12 bottles. So
$57 for the case, I think I got a good deal.

Now for what I'm using them for:

I bought a snow cone machine at WalMart last year and pretty much stuck it
in a cupboard and forgot about it.  Well, I pulled it out yesterday, I had
forgotten what a great easy, low-carb treat the snow cones are!  Trouble is
I was using powdered SF apartame-sweetened syrup mixes that came with
machine, and they taste less than stellar.  So I'm excited about getting my
syrups;  I ordered a variety of flavors including orange, root beer, grape,
cherry, strawberry, amaretto, watermelon, lemon, lime.

I've been eating SF popsicles as an evening snack -- 15 calories and
virtually no carbs.  But the snow cones will give me more variety and will
cost less in the long run too.

Not to mention that I'll be very popular with my nieces and nephews this
summer!

Sounds like a very smart move.

No, no, no, Peter. Share!

It's not spamming if it's not your site.

I've been meaning to get one of those shaved ice things. Watermelon
sounds really good. The only places 'round here that sell DaVincis are
TJ Maxx and Marshalls, and they've had very little laterly. I'll need
to order, I think.

OK, here you go Hannah!:

(Syrup 2 U)

They have a huge variety of SF syrups, both DaVinci and Torani (as well s
some other products).  They're $6.50 for individual 750 ml bottles, but only
$4.75 when bought in a case of 12 as I mentioned.  The DaVinci and Torani
flavors can be mixed and matched in the case.

Yes, that is an excellent price. I prefer DaVinci - have never been
too excited about Torani. I can get sf Torani at the East Coast
version of Cost Plus, but only in vanilla and hazelnut (neither a
favorite).

I love DaVinci caramel, butter rum, have gotten tired of Kahlua, not
too crazy about the chocolate flavors. But I'd like to branch out and
try some others. I also mix a little with fizzy mineral water, over
ice, in the summer. The watermelon would be great for that.

Thanks for the website, Peter!

I had been looking at buying the syrups for that price also - don't recall
the website now but recognize the price - when a friend told me about
naturesflavors.com .  She said those are the syrups she uses, the price is
$2.13/12 oz. bottle.  I haven't tried either of them yet but will probably
try both so I can compare, when I get around to it :).

Oh Damn!  Now Perer's really done it.   His post made me remember that
yesterday I was at BJ's Warehouse and they had frozen LC
chocolate/raspberry ice cream pops.  Think they were the new Keto
brand.  Haven't seen them anywhere before.   So, I was gonna buy a box,
but waited to pick it up till I was done shopping.   Now I realize I
forgot them!  And I'm not a member, BJs was having an open house.

BTW, Peter, where on the web did you find the DaVinci?   If I
understood correctly, they will sell mixed cases at that price?

TIA

Thanks Peter,
I thought I was getting a good deal here locally but I went to the
website you linked here and $57 a case plus ground UPS shipping was
still cheaper. I got mine today and they were packaged beautifully with
a thick styrofoam molded frame made just for the bottles andeach bottle
was bubble wrapped around the base and a piece on top of each bottle
before the molded lid was put on. NICE package job. I was a bit worried
they wouldnt get here intact but I will be ordering again. I'm a stick
in the mud though. I dont venture with too many different flavors. I
have a fav... I ordered one of the SF Dav. rootbeer, one  SF DaV french
vanilla, one Torani SF caramel and 8 of my fav SF  Dav. carmel .
Thanks again for the tip

And... BTW.......I'm still waiting for that letter you promised. Isn't
it getting close to the time you and your sis are going to come and
visit me???????????

*Hanging head in shame*  I'll catch up withmy correspondence this weekend
Laureen, I promise!  I got the pictures of Larry today, OMG, what a
difference.  Good for him.  You two should go on Oprah or something.  I've
never seen a couple accomplish what you guys have done.  When I write an
e-mail this weekend I'll update you on what's going on with my
vacation/travel plans.

You got you syrups before I got mine; mine haven't arrived yet!  Waaaahhh!
It's because the store is on the West Coast andI'm here in Williamsburg, VA.
Mine will probably come tomorrow.  I'm curious Laureen, what do you do
withall the SF caramel syrup?  (I'm thinkin' that maybe you and Larry pour
it on a rubber sheet and then get a bit kinky?  hehe).

Peter
Laureen - 10 Mar 2006 01:28 GMT
Well now Peter about the comment on the rubber sheet....... Ya gave me
a good idea. Maybe it tastes better than whipped cream. Hmmm....

Now what do I do with the carmel syrup you ask? Since I can't drink a
lattes anymore because of the carbs, me being lactose intolerant, the
fat/cals in reg. milk, the icky taste of fat free milk, etc. I make a
large cup of strong coffee ( Batdorf and Bronson is my fav) I add 2
tablespoons of carmel syrup and a Tablespoon of dry creamer and have a
"Like ~A~ Latte" every morning. Sometimes I have 2 cups. You have to
try it! It beats the vanilla, english toffee, and white chocolate SF
Davinici all to hell.

Thanks for the compliment.  We both feel wonderfuI. I look at my
husbands face and he has a younger much more relaxed look to his face.
He just started eating solid food on Saturday so he is getting spoiled
right now after 3 months of pureed food. Dinner tonight was 6 raw
peeled shrimp each sauteed in half Olive Oil Pam and half I Cant
Believe It's Not Butter Spray, sliced garlic, kosher salt and lime
chili powder  served with 3 pencil size stalks of asparagus. Funny
huh?? We were full after eating that tuny bit. Protein is still our
best bet. It fills you up with less and stays in the tummy longer.

K, gotta go buy the rubber sheet now <ZOOM> :)  <evil grin>

AND!!!! I EXPECT THAT LETTER THIS WEEKEND!!!!!! : )
