I'm very keen on trying to make protein bars - not because it saves me
money (I buy them on eBay bulk for 25 cents a piece!!), but because I'm
very picky about the ingredients and ratios, etc. I see a lot of
recipes online for protein bars you can make yourself, but I can't seem
to find any recipes that don't include at least one of these
ingredients, all of which I'd like to avoid, if possible.
1. oatmeal
2. peanut butter (or any nut butter)
3. cream
4. butter
>From experience, I know that these foods do not make me feel full and I
will gain weight, either from the foods themselves, or just from not
being full...
Ingredients I'm happy to use are whey protein powder, egg whites, any
vegetables (I'm curious if anyone has tried this! Maybe blended
zuchhini or cooked, smushed cauliflower, baked?), psyllium... I know
this is spartan but hey, it'll make me feel a lot better about what I'm
eating. I just thank God for Splenda... :)
I'd love to hear about any tips on baking or cooking low-carb, how you
guys substitute some of these foods (liek cream or butter) that you
would rather not use and any experiences, good or bad!, that y'all have
had with low-carb experimenting.
Thanks!

There's a reason for that; you need those fats for texture and flavor.
Or, more to the point, most folks do, hence all those recipes.
Have you tried going to the Designer Protein or other protein powder
website to see if they have any recipes for their product on there?
All I can think of.

Need more protein? Try Herbalife. Its great. It has helped me. They
have a great receipe for protein bars. No cream, No butter, just
natural peanut butter. I use Cookies n Cream flavored protein drink
mix from herbalife. Its about $28 for 550g container, the rest is from
the grocery store. I will find the recipe and post it. Also herbalife
has other protein snacks and protein juice drinks that help.
flavored powder protein drink mix

Ah, now I see. It was a setup.
