What is the problem? Total = HDL + LDL + VLDL/5 or something like that.
So, it's not too far off. I don't see how it could have been 90-100. Also,
the goal isn't to drive total to zero. Your body needs cholesteral and
makes it.
Worry about something else. :)

It's total = HDL+LDL+trig/5. So, I agree, I don't see how you could
expect the total to be lower. These numbers are extraordinary, even
for people on statins.

Thanks for your comment. Where did your equation come from? That is the
first time I've heard/seen cholesteral counts expressed that way. What
reference can you provide? Please advise.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not "worried" about it but, rather, just
interested in understanding the relationship between LDL/HDL and total
cholesteral/ I'm interested in your equation. Where did that come from?
What reference can you give me? Please advise.

I've seen it several places on the net, but don't remember where. You
can find it with a web search. It works out exactly with my own
numbers.

Be thankful you dont have my profile... HDL 14 LDL 32 and Tri 36. No
malabsorbtion, no malnutrition, no thyroid disfunction! It has always
just been very low.
