I tried to access the wealth of links to research at
www.lowcarbresearch.org and I was asked for a password.  Does anyone
know what's going on with that?

That might be because there's no such <name>.org, and somebody's
using it as a placeholder.

Try .net or .com...

Back on 3/21/2006 I went there and it appeared to have been
hacked and pirated.

Was that Laura's website?  I remember her posting a while back that
her low carb website had been hacked and pirated so she was shutting
it down.

Oh, that is a shame. I'm sorry to hear that - she had a great
collection of information.

I wonder if it worth contacting her and encouraging her to find a way to
bring it back to life.  A lot of new research has been come to light in
recent times.....

I found it via wayback.  Here's the url:

Yes it was Laura's site.  I guess I'm going to have to do  my own work
now.  it was great having instant access to information like that, too
bad it didn't last.

I wonder if I can get back there via the wayback machine.  I'll give
it a try.

The "wayback machine" is an internet archive.  I've heard it described
as "snapshots" of the web taken at various periods, I have no idea how
it was done or why, but if you really need to find something that once
existed it's sometimes possible using this url:

http://www.archive.org/

There's lots of cool stuff here aside from Wayback.  My favorite
feature of the archive website is the large collection of public
domain films, feature films, educational films, all kinds of cool
stuff. One could easily waste much of their life at this site.

enjoy,
