Hello all,

let me say thank you to all those that have posted such needed advise. I
decided not to take chances so diet coke and other "permitted" goodies will
left on a side for some time. I will survive.
I promised myself not to be obsesses with the scale but I could not resist
and ..... wow the numbers are getting lower.
I am writing a paper as an assignment for my master and I have decided to
write about what I think has been going on in the States for at least 40
years. The food industry lies to us about what exactly is in the products
they sell to us. Love to hear your opinions.
More to come......

Ok, well, I don't think that most food labels are wrong, necessarily.
They're not 100% accurate because there is some rounding, but I do tend
to trust the ingredients lists.  What I think changed the most in the
last 40 years in the food industry was the introduction of high fructose
corn syrup and partially hydrogenated oils. I think those two
ingredients have done more to cause obesity than anything else in
America.

You can have Diet Coke. Don't they make a version with splenda now, instead
of aspartame?
