A few years ago I lost alot of weight low-carbing, but eventually fell
off the wagon, and have been struggling to get back on ever since. In
fact, I can probably blame it on around the time I met my partner ;)  I
didn't have the skills to be able to live in the "real world" and low
carb.

I've just come across a photo I took about a year ago, when I was full
of good intentions of getting back on low carb. I'm gutted that I'm
still the same weight (if not abit more), and I've wasted a year!!

I have a few health issues I'm trying to get to the bottom of, with the
help of my doctor. But the good news is she has recommended a low GI
diet, because I have a definite intolerance to gluten (as well as being
just plain fat!)

Other than the possible PCOS and possibly thyroid problems, I'm in
reasonable health. Just need to get back on the wagon, and get stuck
in!

I need to lose about 66lbs to be at what my doctor considers a healthy
weight. For now, I'm just doing my best to lose half of that,
preferably by the end of this year. That was actually the point I
became abit unstuck last time. I suddenly reached a weight where I
didn't hate my body, and I think I relaxed abit too much.

So, here I go again. :)

Starting weight: 198
Current weight: 187
Goal weight: 154

Well, welcome back!  I am in the same situation.  With quite a few false
starts in the past 2 years, I was finally miserable enough to change my
lifestyle.

I'm sure there will be days I have problems, but ultimately, I will reach my
goal by the end of the year!!

Welcome back.  I also say this to myself since I'm in the same boat
(ha!. don't say boat to us in New Orleans). Recent visit to to the MD
made it clear. It's been about 3 days, and I forgot how hard it was to
get through. But I've got to reverse what I did in the last 2 yrs. Oh
well.  I'll be checking in every so often.

I'm still here!  Just had a not very good weekend.

Why is it that when things go well at work, they celebrate by bringing
in food?  At this stage, I find my resolve is very weak, and I'll use
anything as an excuse. It's easier for me to try and avoid foody
situations, but sometimes I can't.  Grrrr.

So I'm not going to weigh myself for a couple of days. I know I should
only be weighing once a week anyway, but I can't help it ;)  I try to
make my official weigh day Friday, because atleast if I stuff up over
the weekend, I have the whole week to try and salvage it.

I will try to post a couple of times a week, just to keep myself
honest. Have hopefully worked out the news server issue.

Hey Wed.

You're most likely to get sabotaged(sp) by "well meaning"
coworkers..especially when you start showing results.
One day at a time.

Hey Wed....it's all about choices....when the food arrives, look for the
veggies, cheese, and nuts first.  meat is good too, if you feel you have to
partake.  What I suggest doing is simply leaving the venue.

You can always avoid those situations if you want to.  There is nothing
wrong with weighing everyday if you learn to not freak out...it can help you
learn the impact of going off plan better.

Oh if only it were that easy! I work nights, which means we are all required
to have a meal break at the same time, in the same room. For security
reasons we're not allowed to leave the building either. And the popular food
choices seem to be anything high in sugar and carbs. The other night for
instance we had cheesecake, two types of chocolate cake, chocolate muffins,
and about 3 different kinds of chocolate slice. :(  If only there were nuts
or meat lol

Yes, I do think it helps me realise when I'm slipping up. I don't always get
to log things into fitday, though I do seem to collect bits of paper with my
daily food intake on them. So if I notice I am heading upwards scalewise, it
does make me take a good look at what I had the day before.
