Watching the local TV news, their health story was about a study finding
that low carb diets reduced heartburn in a large percentage of people in the
study.  It went away in about four days and came back if people went back to
their carby ways.  This is something that has been noted here by a number of
posters for years but the first time I heard it anywhere else.  I'm always
thrilled to hear something positive about low carb breaking through the low
fat mantra that the media usually repeats.

It is about time...I've been telling people that for years, yet they'd
rather take drugs....argh!

They can say that about "heartburn" because baking soda has long been a
commodity, but substitute "acid reflux" and then low carb eating cures a
desease that sells purple pills.
