junk science and global warming

Orson Scott Card has a very good article
<http://www.ornery.org/essays/warwatch/2007-03-04-1.html> about how we
got to this point where everyone accepts global warming as a fact.

It's a long article, but interesting, because instead of just arguing
against global warming, he talks about how a myth combined with some
bad science can become conventional wisdom, when it fits people's
preconceptions.  It's obviously applicable to the low-fat myth and a
lot of other common beliefs about diet and health.
