I am on a low carb way of eating because I feel my colitis is better when I
stay away from flours, sugars and starches. I am experiencing cramps in my
calves at night. (It can be from a deficiency in potassium, magnesium or
calcium). I've tried extra calcium (pills) and cramps have not improved.
I purchased a potassium supplement and magnesium supplement today. I'll try
one or the other to eliminate which I may be deficient in. My question is
this, anyone know if a supplement of either in pill form may contribute to
increased colitis symptoms? I tried taking Niasin once to help with
cholesterol and that supplement put me into a flare. So I am a little
tentative about trying new things. Anyone have any experience with this?
