Are you a South Beach diet devotee ? I need your help.

I am reading the South Beach Diet. Maybe I read it wrong but the book
does not mention what is the number of carbs that one should have?

At phase 1 how much carbs should I consume. Phase 2? How about phase
3?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

When you are doing South Beach you do not count carbs or fats. South Beach
is neither strictly low carb or Low Glycemic but a mix of the two. You
simply pick things to eat from the phase one list. This includes 4.5 cups of
veggies at least every day and lean meats and cheeses, not to mention eggs.
In phase one you will not be eating any grains or fruits. You follow the
list for 2 weeks and then slowly move into Phase 2 where you can add these
things back.
Some people call it phase 1.5 because you seem to do better if you add back
very slowly. Say just adding one grain a day for a week and see if you are
still losing weight. Than maybe add one fruit a day for a week and see how
things are going.

Here are some good places to find out more.
