In his movie "Sleeper" Woody Allen plays a health-food store owner
who has been cryogenically preserved for several hundred years, and
is then awakened.  His caretakers engage in the following discourse,
which in this day of chocolate flavonols and Gary Taubes may not be
comedy anymore:

WELL, HE'S FULLY RECOVERED, EXCEPT FOR A FEW MINOR KINKS.

HAS HE ASKED FOR ANYTHING SPECIAL?

YES, THIS MORNING FOR BREAKFAST HE REQUESTED SOMETHING
CALLED WHEAT GERM, ORGANIC HONEY AND TIGER'S MILK.

OH, YES.  THOSE WERE THE CHARMED SUBSTANCES...
THAT SOME YEARS AGO WERE FELT TO CONTAIN LIFE-PRESERVING
PROPERTIES.

YOU MEAN THERE WAS NO DEEP FAT?
NO STEAK OR CREAM PIES, OR HOT FUDGE?

THOSE WERE THOUGHT TO BE UNHEALTHY,

PRECISELY THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT WE NOW KNOW TO BE TRUE.

Kind of like watching Wilford Brimley selling diabetic supplies on TV
today after I used to watch him selling the *healthy diet* in the form
of granola on TV about 10 years ago.
