This is a nice place to get some good support.  There are some jerks
here, as in everywhere else in life, but the good support makes up for
it.

In coin collecting there's a saying - Buy the book
before you buy the coin.  Many hobbies have a
similar saying.  The point is certain parts of the
activity aren't obvious.  Authors spend decades
trying to figure out stuff that works better than the
obvious and then they right books about their
experience.  Try the obvious, do okay.  Follow the
directions in the books, do even better.

So I suggest to pick one of the popular books, read
it, and follow the directions in that book.  No problem
cutting carbs while you read as an easy approximation.
Which book you pick is less important than following
the plan as it's written.

DANDR Doctor Atkins New Diet Revolution by Dr
Atkins - several editions

PP Protein Power by Drs Eades - several editions

SBD South Beach Diet by Dr Atgatston whose name I
constantly forget how to spell - I only know of one
edition

There are lots of others those are just the most popular.
Read any of those, start on that plan, and you'll do
great.
