Second day on diet. What's something good to keep in your desk for a mid
morning snack?
Thanks in advance,
Joe

Beef Jerky made from sane cows.

If jerky is too dry and chewy for you (it is for me, anyway) try the round
Slim Jims. I think those are by far the best. My husband is just the
opposite. He thinks the Slim Jims are too greasy and likes the beef jerky.
Just a matter of preference, I suppose.
Hard-boiled eggs and cheese are convenient to carry to work. Make sure you
are eating a really good breakfast. That will help ease or eliminate any
morning cravings.

The only things that come to mind that don't require refrigeration are pork
rinds and jerky. If you have access to a frig or are willing to carry a
small cooler there are lots of possibilities. Hard boiled or deviled eggs,
cheese, summer sausage, celery, olives, dill pickles. My favorite is ham
and cream cheese rollups. Once you are through induction small quantities
of nuts or sun flower seeds work really well.

-Canned tuna (carry a can opener, and get it in water to avoid an oily mess)
-Brick cheese made of party skimmed milk
-Beef Jerky
-Pepperoni
-Pork Rinds (which evidently you can get flavored, if you are like me and
the smell of them alone makes you want to vomit)
-Pre cooked chicken strips (boneless, skinless, and reheated in a microwave
if you can get it).
-Tea (if you are hungry, often times tea can make you full. Drinking warm
liquid can "trick" your stomach).
Good luck.

Almonds/macadamia nuts are low in carb, but dont go mad and remember to
count them in.

I would like to thank everyone here for all of the help and support.

I bought 2 sacks of pork rinds for induction snacks. One was
flavored and one plain. I ate about half of them over a 2 week
period, then threw the rest out.
But they served the purpose of helping to severely restrict my carbs
and taught me a great deal about my own eating habits.
I recommend them.

I threw 1/2 a bag out too, then I bought another brand- stuck it a Ziploc
bag to keep fresh because I would only take a few pieces at a time...then I
tried adding 2 packets of splenda to the bag and shook it up----gee they
were good- a fried delight- I bet cinnamon would make it even better. Still
everything in moderation- I still don't think pork fat is a good staple for
a diet.
I just came back from Hannaford grocery store- Tops in western NY. They
have a low carb campaign going on- pretty veggies and a Waist watchers soda
that is sweetened with splenda- another treat to maybe save for a couple of
times of the week.
