On Sun., January 4, 2004, "Dateline," NBC's national television news
magazine program, will air a final report on six men and women in a race to
lose weight for their 25th high school reunion. One former classmate, who is
using the Atkins Nutritional ApproachTM, has lost 108 pounds.

Then at 8pm  the food network has a show on low carb.

I'll be watching this, but was disturbed about the promo I saw. They said he
was doing Atkins, then said he was eating "no carbs and mainly meat". I hope
they correct that tonight. That's not Atkins!

oh I know,  I'm still in induction and you hear all the horror stories about
"atkins???? he's dead..."I lost 40 lbs on Atkins and gained back 45"  You
will mess up your kidneys  blablabla,

hey my vegetarian Doctor recommenced Atkins, and I think he did for all the
right reasons- cause I'm losing weight and feeling better- my intact is
better than the old eat everything in sight plan.  Of course he said " how
much meat can one eat, anyway"

Yes, he's dead because he slipped on the ice and hit his head on the sidewalk.  I
doubt eating low-carb had anything to do with that, but it always amazes me that
people will point out that he's dead as a way of discrediting low-carb.

You know, it's not just the Mu/Roose. The PCRM veganistas are spreading this
widely, too. No proof whatsoever, except their suspicion that anyone eating
a low carb ("high protein" in their writings) diet MUST have arterial
blockage, and therefore *probably* suffered from a stroke or cardiac arrest.
No proof, mind you, but that doesn't stop them.

I had hoped that Dr. A would have specified a post-mortem exam in his
will, just so he would have had the final word.
