It's not at all hard using a google search of this group and the term "subway
wraps."

Sheesh.

That was nice....I just directed Murray to read some recent posts since this
has been discussed a lot here.

Surely, if I had wanted to be hard I could have easily found many much
meaner things to say, don't you think?

You do realize that none of what you quoted is what I wrote, right?

Yes, there seem to be two people posting as "Susan".  I hate that -- and
that is part of the reason I invented my "Roger Zoul" persona.  Don't see to
many folks with Zoul posting :)

I may get myself a wrap for lunch today -- once I get a clue of the full
nutritional info...hopefully they have it at subway.com.

The other Susan wrote what he quoted.  Two "Susan"s are one too many.

Did so, and I'd known that at some point in the past.  :-)  My memory

DH is supposed to get me a meter Real Soon Now.   If I get really
worried, I can use my uncle's.  He's close at hand so it's no trouble
and he likes to share the blood sugar blues.  :)

Meters can be found quite inexpensively.  Most pharmacies have their
own inexpensive meter (usually a Prestige Smart System) with the
strips as well.  If your DH is the sort for whom Real Soon Now means
Probably Next Year then you know where to look.  <G>

Even cheaper is to get one on ebay. To tell you *how* cheap, when my
sister's bad dog ate the lancet device that came with my original meter
(and how I wished there'd been a lancet still in there!), the cheapest way
to replace it was to buy a complete new system. So, now I have a meter at
home and one at work.

The strips are the expensive thing, but, again, the prestige ones can be
found pretty inexpensively on ebay.

Not a stockholer, I just like ebay.

I love Ebay.  I'm an oil lamp junkie, and recently started branching
out into other kerosene fired antiques like heaters.  Sarge and I are
going to buy our first house (we have to grow up sometime I guess) and
I'll finally have a place for my collection.  :-)

Quite true...but I'm sure JC Der Koenig can come up with something harsh

The wife and tried them them and not that inpressed. The toppings were
less than what you would expect and the wrap got quite soggy before we
finished. We would much rather have the "any sub as a salad" deal next
time. That having been said, I think we are in the minority on this.
Most others that have tried them have enjoyed them, or at least said
that they have. Maybe I was just expecting too much.

I just had one....it was tasty, but far too much wrap and too little filling
inside for me.  I need at least two of them to be happy.

I'll probably try another location of subway before deciding if I'll bother
to go there again (haven't been in a subway for over two years).

I keep seeing that.  My Subway prepared it with the basic ingredients,
then asked me what veggies I wanted.  I wanted just about everything
except the jalepe?os.  The thing barely touched edges and she finally
gave up and "wrapped" it with the paper.  Very satisfying, but messy.

Oh well, that (too little filling) seems to be the case with their
"regular" subs as well, so it's not like they are singling the low
carbers out. I suspect it's so they can give one the "opportunity" to
upgrade with the double meat option <g>.

The ad that I saw last night said it had 7 grams of carbs.  That seems
like a lot to me.  I think I'd rather see it wrapped in lettuce.

A lot if you're trying to keep to 20g, but not a lot for many people
in OWL or for people on maintenance.

We tried them today, and found them quite acceptable, though somewhat
skimpy on fillings.

The wrap was a very thin whole wheat tortilla, much thinner than most
tortillas.  Imagine a whole wheat Mu Shu pancake.  A few more grams carb
than a LaTortillaFactory LC tortilla has, but IMO a lot more appetizing.

And you know it's more than 7.  Just like their 7 grams of fat.  Maybe
that freeze dried example in the commercial has 7.

Also thought it was very tasty.  I used to be a Subway "veteran" (it
was one of two food choices within easy distance for lunch) and
learned a secret back then, that I applied to my meal on Monday:
double meat.

I had the lo carb wrap BMT double meat with lettuce, tomato
(maintenance), pickle, mustard, oil and vinegar.  It was a very
satisfying meal.  Much better IMHO than the salads.

I know this next idea is not low carb, but . . . They advertise that
you can convert "any" sub into a wrap for just 50 cents more (in the
US).  I would *love* to see them try to make a meatball sub into a
wrap.  I may just order one to see the look on their faces.

Hmm....okay...I'll work with this idea...if I could get some more veggies
inside the wrap, I could be happy, maybe :)

I ordered a steak and cheese (double meat) this past weekend.  This
Subway was quite thorough.  When the wrap was ordered the sandwich
maker cautioned that that the steak came with a sauce that could
increase the carb count.  I'm in Maintenance so it's no big deal, but
it was appreciated.  :-)

Not yet but I am getting tempted and there is a Subway near me.

I've tried them, and liked them.  Will do in a pinch, but I can make them
cheaper than what I was charged.   In fact, made one last night and it
tasted the same for about a fourth of  the cost.

I've made wraps with LC tortillas, lunch meat, cheese, and chopped
veggies I got at the grocery store. Enough fixings for 8 good sized
wraps cost me around $12. That's $1.50 each.

The question is: How much is the convenience of eating LC out and about
worth to you?

I prefer burgers when I'm out. I can always get a low cost burger or
two.

But I might change if I can get a decent job soon.
It sucks being broke.
