Hello
I am 36 Yrs Old - 5'10" - originally 240 pounds.
Start Atkins for 3 weeks and later do on my own low carb diet.
Now my reading is at 205 pounds in around 125 days with good source of
exercise as well. Now my question is is this pace too much like 8
ibs/month ?
My target is 170 pounds in another 3 mts.

The rest of the weight will be alot slower. Depending on caloric intake
and exrecise output of course. The first pounds lost were water. Don't
get discouraged. Your weight loss will be slower, generally around 1-2
pounds per month, which is safer.

I've kept losing at the same rate, even though I'm getting close to my
goal..If anything, I think I've sped up as I've gone..

The OP is already losing 2 pounds a week. 2 pounds a week is just fine
when you have a lot to lose, but I imagine when you get down to the last 10
pounds or so, losing 2 pounds a week would be pretty difficult.

I started off weighing 199 pounds, and I lost 8 pounds a month my first
couple of months, then it started to slow down. I think I remember reading
that 1 - 2 pounds a week is healthy weight loss. Don't expect the pace to
continue indefinitely though, the closer you get to goal, the slower the
loss will probably be, plus most people experience stalls and wooshes
sometimes.

It all depends on how much fat you have compared to muscle. If you're mostly
fat you can keep losing quickly for a while.
