Right now I sit at 188/185/135 3 lbs lost. Yesterday I was at 183 but
started my TOM today and think that is the reason for the 2 lbs gain.

At the end of my first week of induction, I have lost 5 pounds.
This year what I am doing differently is trying Atkins. So far, I really
like the way I feel. I could really live with this new energy. I am having
to learn new ways to cook things, though, so it is taking longer to prepare
meals, but hopefully that will speed up soon.
Hubby has yet to lose a single pound, so he is discouraged. I did find out
that one day at work he ate some pistaccios that somebody brought in... but
I don't think that would throw off his whole week, right?

Hi there Carol Ann. I think ya missed me and my hubby this time. I had
recently posted our starting weights at 216 and 279 respectively. Looks
like u changed us in success stories, but not entered us in the challenge.
If it's not too late we'd like to be in. If it is too late....no worries.
Thanks,

<grin> I'm pretty psyched about it. I didn't think I would be, because at
203 my BMI went under 30, and I thought that was a bigger milestone. But
that 199 sure looked good. :-)

Hi Carol Ann
I am at 307.34
my stats are
360/307.34/240
To answer one of your questions I think I will try to be more social this
year, I am working on my master degree project and that will be finished in
April so hopefully I will be able to get a job and more money to be social.
Though if I am lucky I can go on a ski trip to austria live in Denmark.
Actually I dont live in a country with much hills and snow, but when I
visited my family this christmas snowboarding was much more cool due to the
training and the weigthloss :-). Looking forward to break the 300 barrier.
We use kilograms here so I recently broke a barrier and that was a great
feeling. Collegeas and frinds are now noticing the weigtloss and that is
really motivating.
Take care and thanx
Steffen

I knew I should have lied when I posted my Dec. ending weight. I lost
several pounds in the last couple of days and knew they were just teasing
me. So I am up a pound, so far this month. However, I have continued eating
well and drinking water. I think it was lack of exercise, which I am back on
this week. So no sweat, gotta have a stall sometime, attitude is positive,
plan is still in place.
Goal - 165 lbs by spring break when mom comes to visit, 155 by July for 20
year class reunion, and to really make this woe a wol forever.
Different for this year is to always put my needs first. Sorry. I have spent
my life worrying about work, hubby, mom, etc. It is about me. First. That
means if I am going to exercise class, dinner will have to wait-or fix it
yourself. I have put exercise as a priority in my life.

Well, when I gave my starting weight at 220 on 1/1/04, I said then that I
thought it was going to go up before it went down. My pattern so far has
been: lose a couple, gain one and hold steady for a few days, repeat.
I was right. After waking up on New Year's day at 220, I spent the entire
last week at 221. I'm now back to 220, but that means my first check-in
for the January challenge is: no change. Alas, the month is still young.
regarding your questions, Carol Ann, my weight loss goals are just to keep
trying and keep losing. I am new to the low-carb lifestyle so I hope to
keep learning and experimenting. I don't know what my goal weight is - I
haven't weighed in the 160's since high school - so I'll see when I get
there. The rest of my New Year's goals have to do with my job, not my
weight. ;-)

This week's weigh in - as you know I weigh Sundays - I've lost a total
of 1lb since 1 January. After my good numbers in December this is not
very good. But I also measured today, which I hadn't since December and
I've lost some size so I'm not as downcast as might have been.
