Depending on your point of view, this is either a valuable educational
tool or just fawking high-larious.
A press release from McDonald's offers that their shops in the New
York Tri-State area will be presenting "an educational campaign that
lets consumers stick to their diets while enjoying the food they
love."
Basically, it's printed material telling you what you can order off
the McD's menu and, supposedly, still stick to your chosen way of
eating. In other words, McDonald's is trying to figure out a way tp
get you to still buy their food even if you've decided to devote
yourself to a healthier sort of lifestyle that would normally prohibit
crap like they sell at McDonald's.
For example, if you're following a calorie restrictive diet, they
suggest you order an Egg McMuffin for breakfast (only 300 calories!).
On a low-fat plan? Oreder up one of those yummy, sugar-filled Fruit 'n
Yogurt Parfaits!
We low-carbers are advised to try a double order of scrambled eggs for
breakfast.
"We created the McDonalds Real Life Choices program to make it easy
for our customers to eat at McDonalds no matter what their
lifestyle." says one restaurant owner. Well, of COURSE you did.
Because it's damn scary to think that millions of Americans may start
getting wise to the fact that McD's food is a calorie-rich,
nutrient-empty, heart-attack-in-a-wrapper.
Anyway, the press release is at:

I don't think you have to register or anything to read it, but I might
be wrong.

What they say is perfectly true. I've done low-fat and low-carb (both are
low calorie) at McD...and loss weight. For me, the meal to get their is
breakfast (just fits my lifestyle better).
So, depending on who you are, it may very well be educational....
Oh, I still think the best plan is to avoid eating out as much as possible
while actively trying to lose fat.
