I went shopping the other day when I noticed that Hannaford has these new
tags hanging in front of low-carb foods saying that they are Carb Smart.
They were in front of meat and cheeses and other stuff traditionally low
carb. I went to get some canned veggies and across the isle, there were Carb
Smart tags in front of some of the BBQ sauce.  I picked on up and read the
label. 13g carbs in 1 Tablespoon and it had cornsryup in it. I looked at one
that didn't have the tag and it listed 20 carbs for 2 Tablespoons. I wish
stores would stop trying to cash in on diets. It is sabotage.

Mommy, what does "Formatting Drive C:" mean?

Hence the FDA requirement that food not be labelled "low carb" until
the FDA comes up with concrete definitions of "low carb".

I mean, 13g of carbs is certainly lower than 20g carbs, right?  That
makes it "low carb" relative to the other one, yes?  Their statement
is technically true, but not useful.

You see it was 13 in 1 tablespoon and 20 card in 2 tablespoons, which means
the second had less carbs per Tablespoon. And the sauce itself didn't have
it labeled low carb, but the store put cardboard in front of them saying
they were carb smart products. The bbq sauce I looked at was Jack Daniels
btw.

But it has less carbs *per serving*.  I didn't say it was morally
right, just technically correct.

It was Carbconscience tags. Sorry I didn't remember exactly what the tag
said.

This is exactly the reason why the FDA is cracking down and I, for one, am
happy about it.
