I have been doing Atkins since 10/27/03 to the success of 17 pounds
now gone forever. In the last 3 weeks, with no diet change, I have
started to get nauseous in the morning after breakfast and it lasts
several hours.

Normal breakfast: scrambled eggs, sometimes with cheese & sometimes
with bacon
Carbs per day 28-40, caleries per day 1500-1700.

Does anyone else experience nausea like this since they started
Atkins? How do you handle?

Thanks for any advice,
Rachel

You PS was my first thought. Sometimes my stomach can't handle oil and
grease first thing in the morning. Might want to change you breakfast
choices.

I have experienced the same thing this week. I went through this when first
starting Atkins in June--then it went away--and now it's back. I am going to
eat the Atkins cereal in the morning instead.

You probably have a very high ketone level, especially in the morning after
fasting overnight and then eating a high-fat breakfast.  Ketones can
actually cause nausea in some people (I'm one).  Try eating a few carbs with
breakfast like some low-carb toast, some berries, or maybe some slightly
carbier vegetables (like onions) scrambled into your eggs.

Hope you get this worked out.

Thanks- Upped the carbs this morning at breakfast and feel much
better. Think it's worse on days after I go to the gym the evening
before so that would make sense. Appreciate the advice.
