Hiya I got a few Q and Statements:
1// Slimfast- I bought the Low Carb Chocolate Beverage, as soon as my son
comes home from school
Ill I shall open one and have a miniscule sip and give him the rest, Ill
tell you what its like...

2// I bought some of those 7-11 Zcarb chocolate bars Ill do the same with
those.

3// Someone said they had had the Arisona Blueberry NoCarb Iced Tea?
How was it? I got a bottle today...

4// In my local 7-11 there was a whole banner outside over the store front
about Joining the Atkins Low Carb Revolution and a huge selection inside.
They had this lil stand with Atkins Pamphlets and so I took SEVERAL
to put in my purse to give to ppl who either ASK or are ignorant about
Atkins to hand out to them! Instead of arguing
and having to explain repeatedly what I eat and what it is! Maybe we should
all have these handouts to give and spread the word! It even has a 7 day
induction menu in the back. It explains everything!
The pamphlet is labeled ALL ABOUT ATKINS (16 PGS)

5// In the induction menu it says you can have Atkins bread and pancakes, I
thought no breads until one gets into OWL? Which is it? No bread or only
Atkins bread?

I am assuming since the Doc has passed away, the company will alter the
diet plan for product sales boosts.  My 2 cents

I was just asking a question, not preaching. I am sure that you have a
good answer, but I have no idea what it might be.

Sorry I am not responding because to do so would be a defensive move!
And I have nothing to defend. You eat your way and Ill eat mine.
I do NOT allow sugared sodas, or Ice Teas in my house FOR the reference.
Read into that what you want...

but you're influencing your son's eating.  it's not so much about *your*
eating when you're pushing potentially shitty food onto someone else.

does your son need to drink slimfast?

Would I rather he had Low Carb SF SlimFast WITH VITAMINS AND MINERALS than a
Sugary Soda, Fruit Roll Up, Or those nasty Fruit Gushers or candy or cake or
potato chips after school?
YOU BETCHA SWEET BIPPY!
What ever a "bippy" is!
<G>

BTW it was like a CarbSolutions with a heavy vitamin flavor..
I look at SlimFasts NOT as a Diet product but as a Vitamin supplement.
SlimFast is NOT a wise diet as its not FOOD and teaches you NOTHING
about good eating behavior but it is nutritional as a nice snack in place of
other junk foods!

BTW I remember when SlimFast WAS low carb when they first came out.
They were all nutrasweet!
ADC - 08 Jan 2004 23:35 GMT
cut her some slack, especially if her kid likes the drink.  They are better
than 12 oz. of liquid sugar

why does he need either one of them?  can't he eat a piece of fruit and
have a glass of water?  is he allergic to celery and peanut butter or
something?  are fake bullshit shakes (like slimfast) and super-sweet
high fructose corn syrup transport systems (like soda) the only options
he has?

give the kid an apple, for chrissakes.  better yet, give him a pear:
they have a lower glycemic index.

Ummm Its not like he gets ALL SLIMFAST ALL THE TIME!
And I already told you I dont give him sugared sodas!
He drinks water all the time, SOME fruit (Apples and bananas)
and everything else. He is NEVER sick!
Hes a robust healthy boy!

But Queen, we were talking about me buying the beverage to taste test it,
and give the rest to him as a treat
NOT every damn day after school.
Geez!

i just don't see how *slimfast* makes a good treat for anyone.
especially for a kid.

you keep on justifying it to yourself if it makes you feel good, though.

Some people likes treats..what harm is that?  My 2 cents.

if people want to treat themselves to cans of crap, that's fine.  if
people want to treat themselves to something that isn't a can of crap,
that's fine too.

but giving a can of slimfast to your kid in the guise of a "treat" is
not very nice, not to mention not very smart.

Sugary Soda, Fruit Roll Up, Or those nasty Fruit Gushers or candy or
cake are not the only alternatives. Water, real juice, milk,
buttermilk, are also available.

Giving children junk food or specialty concoctions formulated to be
sold to specialty dieters, does not strike me as reasonable.

> BTW it was like a CarbSolutions with a heavy vitamin flavor..

I was not aware of existence of "vitamin flavor"...

I hope that your son will have a lifetime of fitness and good health
in front of him! I hope that he grows up resistant to the addiction to
junk foods, etc.

For induction?  None.  The products are a hindrance to the whole concept
of induction, even if they are legal countwise.

I'm not interested in the menus.  Does that cut it down a lot?

Q: How many tech support people does it take to change a light bulb?
A: We have an exact copy of the light bulb here and it seems to be
working fine.  Can you tell me what kind of system you have?  Okay, just
exactly how dark is it?  Okay.  There could be four or five things
wrong.  Have you tried the light switch?

Actually I could E-Mail a zip file of it to you and anyone else who wants
it.
I NEED (cause I promised awhile ago) to scan parts of the
Dr Richard Hays "Eat More Fat, To Eat Less Calories"
book for the group.

That would work.  Send it to my home address, if you have it instead of
the group address (that one has a 1 meg max for attatchments).

that rules like "Don't fall into this huge pit of spikes" were there
