My local Carl's had a big ol' sign in the middle of the menu board. I
had two of them ($3.95 each, cha-ching!). Good, but they have a lot
to learn about lettuce wraps. In-N-Out still is the gold standard.

We have Hardee's in Alabama, which is the same as Carl's. We have a choice
of a single or double lo-carb burger. The double is only a dollar more. Do
you not have this option? It is just like your menu, placed in the middle
of the board, called lo-carb burger.

Is the low carb version the same as the regular just without the bun? I ask
because Carl's website doesn't have the low carb option on their nutrition info
yet so I calcualted the 6 Dollar Burger without a bun and got 726 calories and
15 carbs.
After THAT eye opener I chose to go next door and get a double double protein
style for 520 calories. (Actually less since I had it with mustard only, no
sauce or ketchup but their website doesn't allow for customizing.)
I'm one of those who definitely has to count calories as well as carbs. I plan
to try a low carb six dollar burger soon but will have to budget the rest of my
day accordingly.

I spoke with customer service on the phone last night after posting that. He
told me they should have the complete nutrition information on the Low Carb 6
Dollar Burger within a few weeks. I don't understand how they can advertise 6
grams of carbs if they don't have the nutriton information available. At this
point, though, I'm more concerned with the calorie count being so high. I
wonder if they'll have a problem making a Famous Star low carb.

I had my first one the other day. It's good, although messy. I think the
lettuce had too much water on it or something. The picture for it shows
ketchup but mine came with no ketchup.

You could probably have gotten the same amount of meat by ordering
four of their 99 cent bacon cheeseburgers (hold the ranch dressing &
onion ring), and had $4 left over.
