Carol Ann,
Quick check in and a suggestion.
Starting: 210
Current: 208
Down 2 so far in January.
Also, you had asked for input with regard to how to make the weight loss
challenge better, if the following has been suggested before I apologize in
advance for being redundant.
My suggestion: Given the difficulties many of us have had not just losing
weight and getting to goal, but maintaining that weight loss over time,
would it make sense to add something along the line of a Maintenance
Challenge? Sort of a "Hi, my name is JJ. and I've maintained my weight loss
for 4 years."
Personally, I find the stories from those who have lost weight, reached and
then maintained their target weights for extended periods (read years) to be
inspirational. I know I can lose the weight, but keeping it off is as
significant a challenge.

This is a really good idea. You could even make it in terms of months -
'I've maintained for 48 months.' Sounds even more impressive and you get
to change it every month instead of every year.

It *is* a good idea, but maybe not for Carol, who's doing all the work. She
does put a lot of her time and energy into this and I'd hate to see her
burdened with more. Plus, she so nice, I wonder if she'd say no. <grin>
If she can figure a formula that would easily work into a table for the
website, I'd be all for it -- if it didn't take her too long. It's so easy
to get burned out on this kind of thing.
Carol, you are so wonderful to do this. Thank you!
Chakolate, love the quote at the end of your post, btw. Thurber is a
fascinating and funny writer.

Thanks. It's reminiscent of a poster to alt.support.menopause, who used to
say it's good to be open minded but not so open that your brains fall out.

Thank you! Your compliments are appreciated....although I admittedly need
to work on updating more often than 2 times a week!!
I'm going to try to go back to daily updating.

I'm checking in a 185.5 lbs. I always thought it would be neat to
have a section near the top with people that are getting near their
goals.. I'm not just saying that because I'm near my goal either ;)

Great suggestion, JJ. I actually have a section on the page called Low Carb
Success Stories where people can tell their story. Additionally, I've asked
for successful losers to let me know if they would like to be added.
For those without a webpage, I also provide space to tell your story. You
must have maintained your loss and have pictures. That's all I asked.
Check it out and let me know what you think.

I had been through your website and, though I saw links to other websites
and stories, I did not see what you had hosted locally. I'll look again,
perhaps I was having a dull moment when looking before.
Thanks for your support.
