I started LC on 8-03 I weighed 199 and I got down to 160.
WHewww I was feeling great, well to great I decided to start adding things that
I knew I couldn't have.All that to say I weigh 165 right now and growing.Please
anyone with advice to getting this stuff out of my system and get motivated
again before I gain more.I have started walking on Mon & Tues & Wed with Walk
Away the Pounds.And I drink my water but, I had Pizza for dinner just couldn't
resist.What can I do to get back.I do induction for a day and then I break
again.
Any positive advice will be appreciated.
By the way I miss the group. I love reading how motivated you guys can be.

Okay, it's good that you are back after putting on only 5 pounds.
You KNOW what you have to do. You have to be strong and resist
those carbs til your cravings are gone and you are back in
control. You did this before, so you know it is doable. It is
only hard for the first few days. Be strong!

Tracie,
First of all, you only regained 5 lbs. Some of it is water. At worst it
will take a month to get it off. If you don't do it now, you'll be looking
at 30 lbs, which will take a whole lot longer.
It can be much harder to low carb the second time because you don't get the
"Magic" whoosh the first couple days. BUT, you will lose the weight at a
normal rate of a pound or so every week or two, and that beats putting the
weight all back on!
As far as how to do it? Well, you pretty much have to just decide you're
going to feel like crap for 3 days and get through those days. By the end
of day three you should start feeling a whole lot better, but day 1 and 2
are going to be about cravings. This isn't because you are evil or weak.
It's because you've trained your body to expect carbs coming in and it is
pumping out huge doses of insulin which make you HUNGRY.
As soon as the insulin calms down--which it will after a few meals without
carbs--the hunger monster goes back into it's den and the sun comes out and
you start forgetting to eat like you did when you lost the weight before.
But don't take the cravings personally. It's metabolic, not moral, and if
you can just sit them out, they go away.
It also helps if you get everything out of the house you might be tempted to
eat and if you ask those near and dear to you NOT to take you to restaurants
for a few days!

LC is like riding a bicycle. Once you learn how to effectively LC you
never forget. So you fell off your bike, like I have, brush yourself
off, get back on, and peddle like hell to get to your destination.
