Bristol Farms is a very upscale market here in So Cal & when I saw the
ad for LC cheesecake, I got rather excited, as their food is usually
pretty good. Bought a piece today for $2.99 (actually price marked
was $3.29, but she charged me 2.99 for some reason - I'm not
complaining.)
Small piece - about 1/6th of a 6" cake - had my choice of chocolate or
raspberry, which I chose. Was very grainy & not at all creamy. Very
disgusting texture. Little raspberry taste & very nasty aftertaste -
sucralose was the sweetner. Worst part was the crust - gummy, chewy
yucky tasting bits made out of soy isolate.
Just wanted to warn any locals off of this if you were curious to try
- definitely not worth your $2.99 or $3.29!
I remember ordering an incredible, but very expensive cheesecake from
a bakery in Florida years ago - they had all kinds of wonderful
flavors - anyone have any ideas if they're still around?

You can almost make a whole cheesecake for that much money! Here is a good
recipe that you can even serve to non low carbers:)
Low Carb Cheesecake
Crust
1 1/2 cup almond flour
1/3 cup Splenda
1/4 tsp xanthan (or guar) gum
1/4 cup melted butter
Mix together and pat into a springform pan. Bake for 8 minutes at 350.
Filling
3 8oz. bars of room temperature Philadelphia cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 cup Splenda
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 T lemon juice
Mix well (I use an electric mixer) until well blended and creamy.
Bake for about 50 minutes at 350 degrees
Chill and top with Splenda sweetened Lucky Leaf cherry pie filling (optional
of course)
Where in Florida did you find the excellent cheesecake? I have heard that
Ruby Tuesday makes a great low carb cheesecake if you don't want to bake
one.
