I have been on induction for a week now. I have been keeping my carbs
to about 12 gram a day, excapt last night when I was just at 20, by my
count. I added 3 tbs of Fat Free Refried beans to my place.. boy were
they good. I have lost 9 lbs. I don'y think I have reached ketosos. I
have heard
people talk about ketosos strips, where can you get them? at a
drugstore? or do U have to order them off the net. Please let em
know.

Any wallmart or drug-type store, yes, usually behind the counter tho, ask at
the desk. Some people never find they get near the purple end of the
strip, so with your wonderful weight loss, I doubt you need to check your
chemistry! CONGRATS!!! sounds marvelous to me!

If you've only been at 12-20 carbs a day, you're in ketosis. How would you
know otherwise if you didnt test? And if you DO test and it says negative,
that still doesnt mean you're not.

When in ketosis, I get a funny "taste" in my mouth. Do you have that at all?
It is as if the roof of my mouth has a brassy taste. That is how I can tell.

you don't need them. you're losing weight - isn't that what you wanted
to do? don't waste your money on something you don't need. go buy
yourself a nice ribeye steak instead :)

The goal during Induction is 20 not 12. Really. Get as close to 20
each day as you can.
> I added 3 tbs of Fat Free Refried beans to my place..
Welcome to day one. Induction is strict. "If it is not on the list,
it does not pass your lips". Beans are several weeks away.
> I have lost 9 lbs. I don'y think I have reached ketosos.
You should be on the scale at all until the end of Induction. Too many
newbies freak out at the wild day to day water swings. But if you are
9 pounds down you are certainly in ketosis.

Yep, any pharmacy in the section for diabetics. They're designed for
diabetics but happen to be usefull for low carbers. They are also
available on-line if you wish.
