Idiot retards at my workplace

I apologize now if the subject offended you.
I do not use the term "retarded" often, and since my father drives
developmentally challenged people for a living, I certainly use the PC terms
when referring to someone who is differently abled.

But this post doesn't apply to someone who has a legitimate disability, but
it does apply to the big man who at work is called my "supervisor".

Back in October (late oct) when I decided to go on the first phase of the
Atkins diet, I was greeted with nothing but jokes and junk from my so called
"manager".
I should point out that he is about six feet tall, and weighs about 280lbs.
He is not in shape at all, and has had two hernia's in this lifetime of
being out of shape. Absolutely no muscle on him, and he is constantly in
terrible shape.

he made fun of me so much... over and over.

"You know what diet _I_ follow"? he would say.
"what" I would ask
"CANADA FOOD GUIDE".

I got so sick of this, one day I shot back "thanks, I will be sure to avoid
that one then since it gave you the great results you are seeing today".

"Oh, Atkins doesn't work for me. I am constantly hungry" he said, to which I
answered that he was doing the diet wrong.

after about a month of induction, after there were visible changes on me, he
announced he was going to do the southbeach diet, and now he has started
that diet.

So he went from putting down a relatively safe and well established diet, to
going on the least proven but still effective low carb eating plan.

Nice huh?
This is the garbage I am constantly putting up with here at work.

Sounds like you are the leader.

Heh, thank you.

Well, if it weren't off topic, I could go on and on about things, however
sometimes I feel as though I do more than him, but am stuck at the same
slavelike wage...
In short, there has been more than one time that I have been lied to and
subjected to a yelling match from him because he refused to listen to me,
just like how he refused to hear my story of how the WOE changed me.
Now he believes, but at first it is like yelling at the rain to make it
sunny. There is no reason to get upset trying, because you should understand
going in that it won't make any difference.

Hopefully you will get thin and he will keel over from a heart attack
at work, at which point you could pretend to call 911 while you watch
him die.  Critcal minutes could tick away as you snicker to yourself
before slipping away to really call 911 5 minutes later than the
original fake call.  That way you cover your a.s while doing your best
to maximize his chances of death or permanent brain damage.
Revenge, and even the mere fantasy of revenge, can be lots of fun!
Plus, if you have it thought out ahead of time you'll be less likely
to pansy out if the situation arises.

I've had a lot mroe luck.  I'm a Hotel GM, and my Assistant GM and Executive
Housekeeper are both on Atkins now also.    Makes it easy when we all go out
to lunch together  :)

I had alot of friends who were less than enthusiastic when I started Atkins,
7 months and 7 inches off my waist and they are mainly on it themselves!

So, basically, he had an opinion, revised the opinion in light of evidence
and was man enough to acknowledge changing his opinion. And *he's* the
idiot?

Begin where you are - but don't end there.

Actually Atkins doesn't always curb hunger in everyone even when they follow
it to the letter. You might want to get the facts before assuming you're an
expert and accusing people of doing it wrong.

So instead of being happy that he's actually going to start a low carb plan
you're pissed because he isn't doing it your way? I can see you claiming the
joking and harassment as garbage but I fail to see why him starting the
South Beach diet makes him an "idiot retard". Atkins isn't for everyone.

I used to have author unknown on there. Not sure what happened to it. Thanks
for identifying who actually said it.

No Jeri,

I find it IRONIC that he was giving me a hard time for using an "unknown"
diet, and now is himself doing an even less well known diet.
That is all.

Steven, I would hardly call the South Beach diet "unknown" - it's the #1
bestseller on the NYTimes Advice book list.

True, but it did come along well after Atkins....and is in many ways very
similar.
