I've just started doing Atkins, this is day two.. I've incorporated
exercise into my program. I walked 20 minutes on treadmill yesterday
afternoon (jan. 11), it's now 3:30 in the morning (jan.12). I"m having
a hard time relaxing, not sure if it's atkins related or not.. has
anyone else had this happen to them??

It could be the diet (most likely), the exercise, or both. Anytime
you make sudden changes in either it can effect your sleep. Give
yourself some time to adapt. If you need to ease up on the exercise
it's no big deal... cut back a little and give yourself more time to
build up.

You might try a nice warm bath before bed. It helps me when my
muscles get sore and gives me time to reflect on the day.

Bingo. This helped me too.

There was a time in my life when I used carbs as a sleeping pill (french
toast at 11:00 PM), and at the end I was falling asleep after meals.
Turns out I had diabetes, and the carbs were sending my blood sugar way
up into the sleepy zone.
The effect doesn't depend on a person being diabetic -- just the
strength of the effect may vary, I think -- so it may be that carbs were
helping you get sleepy and you now need to find another way to wind
down. Hot bath?

Ah, week one. I remember sleeping about an hour a night in the
first week. What a rush. Then my sleep steadily moved towards
normal again.
Low energy is more common, but high energy is common.

I remember something similar, only not as drastic. I
suddenly only wanted to sleep about 5-6 hours a night, when
previously I needed 8 hours. During the daytime, I needed
to find things to do, because of restlessness. Cleaning the
house (yech!) became something to do and my house was the
cleanest around. Then we got back to normal!

I'm in this category. It seems like I don't need as much sleep because
what sleep I do get is really refreshing. Unlike before LC when I would
sometimes wake up more tired than when I went to bed.

During about the second day of induction I went through something
similar, only in my case it was during the daytime. A restless, driven
feeling, an inability to relax. Is that your problem? In my case it
lasted only ~8 hours.
