Hi everyone,
Ive been offline since just before Christmas, but its great to be back
(although most wouldn't have noticed I was gone since I dont post all that
much!).
I was pretty strict with myself over Christmas, but something must have gone
wrong because between Christmas and the 8th Jan I didnt lose any weight -
for the first time since starting in October 2003. I know it was a fairly
short one, but it was my first plateau - Im so proud! ;-)
I started to panic a little, but I just hung in there, started measuring my
food closely again and stuck to my exercise plan, and when I weighed myself
this morning I was down to 105kgs (231lbs) This is PAINFULLY close to my
first 10kg loss - very exciting! While Im not really one for New Year's
Resolutions, my goal is to weigh 70kgs (154lbs) by Christmas 2004. Thats
0.7kgs (about 1 1/2lbs) per week - fairly do-able I think! Im optimistic!
My husband, who is 6'4", was quite concerned that his weight had increased
to 110kgs (242lbs) in the last year, and decided that he would take my lead
and start a (somewhat less strict) version of my low-carb plan. He began
just after Christmas, and without even trying he has dropped to 104kgs! No
exercise or anything! Im so pissed! I finally weighed less than him and then
he goes and loses 6kgs in three weeks! So unfair! Men seem to have it so
much easier than women when it comes to weightloss. Oh well - just makes me
that much more determined to catch up and overtake him! See - Im an
optimist!
Anyway - Happy belated New Year to all - I look forward to contributing to
the group over the coming year!
