Hello fellow lo-carbers!
A belated wish for a terrific new year! I have not been here for
awhile due to a death in my family. My older brother was visiting me
at Christmas, and unexpectedly passed away of a heart attack in our
home. It was traumatic to say the least, he was only 49 years old.
Unfortunately, he died in my nine year old's bed, so we had to deal
with my son's obvious distress over that issue. It was a difficult
time making arrangements, and there was so much stress abounding. I
ate emotionally for a week, but was able to put the brakes on that. I
felt terrible physically, and was ready to embrace "clean" eating!
That is a victory to me that I choose lo-carb over emotional binge
eating!!! The upshot of my brother's passing is that we are all at
peace now with his death, He was a devoted believer in the Lord, and
we know where he dwells now. It is business as usual, except now we
are all sick with colds and the flu. I am very anxious to start
walking again. Oh, and through it all I only gained 4 pounds, 3 of
which I have already lost! It is good to be back and I look forward to
reading your posts!
Blessings to all,
Jeano

Cardiac death of your 49 year old brother is a great reason to
consider a thorough physical.

Sorry for your loss. Sounds like you're ready to get back on track. I went
through a similar time recently. Welcome back.

Sory for your loss, my brother were recently put to jail and I have a really
hard time consuming that so I can figure that your loss has been hard to
deal with. The sad part is that my brother ended there because of his
stupidity and because he is too naive.
I admire your quick return to low-carb. Keep up the good work

Just last night I was wondering where you were. I am very sorry
to hear of your brother's death and of the circumstances
surrounding it. Kudos to you for not derailing for a much longer
time!
