Okay i hope im not the only one who has had trouble staying on induction. I
followed Atkins once before and lost 28lbs in like 12 weeks so I know it works.
This time i cant seem to stay on track. Its like the craving for sugar is so
much greater. Im trying but i blew it last week so I started over this week. I
guess im just looking for moral support. I put on what i lost since October.
Halloween threw me. Ive never written on the boards so I guess i thought it was
a good way to ent my frustartion at me and make those who that have stayed on
track at least feel successful. I have been drinking decaf coffee with cream
only and splenda 1-2x per day could this be hurting me as well? Have a good
night everyone!

Hello,

The thing is you know the Atkins plan works because you had good results
previously. Thus, you have to set mind over matter and kick start your
will-power into high gear. After all, Spring is coming up shortly.

Good luck.

Dont' feel alone.  I"m having the same problem.  I really got serious about
it yesterday and I was .5 lb. lighter today.  I was really good today until
I got home and I had a serving of the Atkins Vanilla ice cream.  The rest of
the day I was pretty good except for the diet coke.  I had 2 today.  But I
also drank alot of water too.  I'm having more sweet cravings this time as
well.  Last time I did Atkins (pre-baby) I lost 48 lbs.  I know it
works.....I have to do this!  We can do it!

butch up.  either you want to lose weight or you want to eat sugar.  you
can't have it both ways.

that's a step in the right direction.

maybe but not likely, especially given that you're drinking decaf.  many
people lose weight just fine without giving up coffee.  however, i
myself found that cream in my coffee added up to way too many calories a
day so i switched to drinking my coffee black.

If the coffee/cream/splenda is kicking off craving you might want to
lay off it for induction, or drink it black. Cravings can be habitual
as well, like smoking or snacking can be associated with coffee. I'm
not a big coffee drinker. I have it with breakfast (past year, about
once a month) and with dessert when I go out for dinner. As bored as I
am with water, I'm holding off trying coffee since I associated it
with sweets and big breakfasts. After induction I may try it black to
get some variety into what I drink . I hate the taste of diet soda.

Why did you quit?   Atkins is not a diet, it is a lifestyle change.  Get on
it, don't ever get off of it again.  Take a pic of you in a bathing suit and
look at it often.  That is enough for most to look at the cake and say "no
thanks".  Some morons will say "just one piece won't hurt ya".  I always
reply with "Would you offer an alcoholic a beer or glass of wine?"  That
makes them think and I haven't lost any friends because of it.
