Todays paper says Burger King introduces their hamburger without
buns.  It comes with a fork and plastic container.   Stores are urged
by the home office to charge the same price as the bunned burger.

On CNBC yesterday it was reported that Burger King was also going to add
Steak and shrimp to the menu and to start offering a salad instead of fries
if requested. Someone is really thinking.

I wonder if I would have tried Atkins if my Dr hadn't recommended it. How
long would I have taken to give it a shot?

1/2 lb lighter today and should make 20 lb lost by this weekend!

making Jell-O to celebrate.  my downfall:  I love pork rinds with little
splenda shaken on it! got to keep those to a reasonable portion or it will
be 1/2 a bag.

What a great idea....I just hope they are smart about the use of fats and
salad dressings, too.

Imagine the possibility of healthy fast food.  It seems like an oxymoron.

I did.  I saw someone I respect get good results.  That started me to
reading up. Then I found this place.

Right. And if you can't control yourself with them....don't keep them
around --- make them a once-in-a-while treat.

That's great advice.  I've realized I can't have nuts in the house
anymore.  Isn't a serving size the whole bag/can? hahaha
I think I basically made that my dinner last night.  damn...

What are drive thru users supposed to do? Get in a frikkin accident???Fast
Food restaurants should put
a lil noggin power into it!
Like if you are going to eat it with a fork and knife at least make it like
a oblong shape with a mushroom au jus
with turnip fries! DUH! Turnips arent very expensive are they? Or sauteed
mushrooms with melted cheese and grilled onion slice!
OR wrap it in lettuce !

There is no way in hell I'd even try to eat a lettuce wrapped burger
while driving.

If you're silly enough to try eating one while driving -- yes.

That's funny....about the only kind of burger I've ever felt comfortable
eating while driving are those very basic burgers --- bun, small pattie,
cheese, mustard, etc.

I would never even try a whopper or big mac while driving --- stuff could
all out everything and cause you to have an accident.  I'd never consider
driving witha lettuce wrapped burger.  I can barely eat them sitting.

I can eat a burger, big mac or otherwise, while driving. You just wait for
red lights!
Slows your eating down.

eating in the car is a terrible habit anyways.

I used to go to Wendy's a lot while low-cabring because they had
actual chunks of lettuce you could wrap the burger and condiments in
(I'd just discard the bun).

Too many places only use shredded lettuce, which is impossible to wrap
anything in.

I've found it easy enough to eat while driving once you make the wrap.

A burger wrapped in lettuce could be pretty messy--although it
would be more useful if you are eating on the run.  I wonder when
the cauliflower-based French fries are going to debut, anyway?
BTW, avoiding BJ's fries is no loss for me, because I have loathed
them ever since they changed them years ago.

Its marketing.
PrinceHalsChase - 14 Jan 2004 21:30 GMT
Bad marketing at that. Burger King is alzy and looking to exploit the low carb
craze.

If they are really interested  in satisfying the low carbers, they would offer
a low carb ketchup and a low carb bun. And why are they ommitting mayo from the
burger when figuring out the net carbs for the burgers?, doesn't mayo  have no
carbs?

Also how is it that the bunless burgers have 3 carbs?

Where do they come from?

The condiments, tomato slice and lettuce and cheese.

I think several things on the no mayo:
- it probably saves them money.
- mayo does have calories in it, so by doing it this way, they can say
they are helping the dieters out.
- by having the person ordering put the mayo on, they save time and
also allow the person doing it to put it on.

Personally, I would like them to come up with a low carb dieting
topping they could put on.
