right.  give it up before you even try to start.  that's a great way to
succeed.

If you can eat diary and eggs, I think it is not a problem.

OTOH, vegans on atkins are impossible. But they are likely to die from
nutrients deficiency soon anyway, so who cares ? :)

Atkins says that strict vegetarians would likely be very bored by the
limitations of the diet. That boredom would likely result in coming
off the diet--which is a failure of the diet. Vegetables and fruits
have natural sugars and starches, so you will be limited in
consumption on almost all. If you can incorporate cheeses, eggs it
would get a litttle better.

Try Protein Power, it is more sympathetic to vegetarian dieters.

If vegetarian diets are that healthy, you shouldn't be overweight therefore,
you shouldn't need to be on Atkins.  Unless it is for religious reasons, eat
the meat.

Try Google Groups Advanced Search, this newsgroup, for messages with

And if you're willing to wait a month, the March 2004 issue of Vegetarian
Times is going to have a feature on low-carb vegetarian diets.
