While it looks go to me, it all depends on you.  Do you feel better??  You
may want to check out fitday.com (free) and plug in all that you eat.  The
site will give you a good synopsis of the amount of calories, fats and carbs
you're actually eating.  Also depends on the veggies you're using - are they
all LC?   Based on what you've listed, it's very similar to what I eat,
except I only do one egg in the morning with some sausage links or ham....

I basically eat a mixture of:  Lettuce, Cucumber, Radish, Peppers,
Mushrooms, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Mange Tout, French Beans, Leeks, Broccoli.

Any idea (roughly) what the carb count would be for mixed 8oz salad + 5oz
other veg.

You may want to check your calorie count.  To me, it doesn't look like your
getting enough.  You can check your intake by going to Fitday.com; it's free
and a very good resource to use.  You should be getting about 10-12 x your
current weight.

Also, make sure your water intake is high enough; it's crucial for you
health as well as your weight loss.  From asdlc FAQ: "Water is essential to
weight loss, especially for lowcarbers. The *minimum* consumed daily should
be 64 oz PLUS 8 oz for every 25 pounds overweight."  That means you should
be having a *minimum* of  about 2 liters plus about 240 ml for every 11.34
kg (25 pounds) overweight.

It is important that you read your book(s) and check out the asdlc FAQ.  If
you've missed it being posted this week, go to
http://www.grossweb.com/asdlc/faq.htm

Hope this helps.

OK....   I've entered todays foods and the carb count reads 26g which I
simply cannot believe as I've eaten bugger all.  I had a 3 egg omelette
(cooked in olive oil).  Depending on how I enter it, fitday says it's
between 5-7 grams.  Surely eggs are carb free?  The book says "eat
liberally".

Anyway, my Cals look 500g under.  Fat 114g, Protein 175g.

eggs are not carb free.

One extra large egg (raw) is .708 g carb.  The oil (or butter) will have no
carbs.  The filling for the omlette will add more, depending on what you
use.

The nutrient value for the egg -- and its versatility -- more than outweigh
('scuse the expression) any minimal carbs you may get.

I'm not sure how you're entering the your omlette, but I have 3 eggs most
mornings and the total carb count is about 2 g.

You need to make sure you get enough calories; too few and your body will go
into starvation mode and you won't lose weight and you will damage yourself.

I've had 16 in the last week (first induction week), and was wondering if
that was excessive.
So, you regularly consume 20-ish eggs a week?

i myself go through a couple dozen of them in about two weeks.  i eat
two a day most days.

eggs is good for ya.

Yep,  I love eggs; they are my favorite breakfast.  If I don't have 'em
plain ole fried, I make a frittata -- or even a crustless quiche -- and have
the leftovers the next day.  My grandparents had eggs for breakfast every
morning of their lives and lived to their late 80s.  My mom is 89 and had
eggs most of her life.  Now I know that something is gonna end up killing
me, but if it's eggs and I'm 90, who cares? <g>

How many grams of carbs are from fiber? You can subtract fiber from your
total carb count.

Have you subtracted your fiber?  That will give you your net carbs?
